Hello everyone,

As I take my journey in learning I have come to start to read of Saints at this moment I am reading the Diary of St.Faustina. I have been so moved by all that she has gone through. I sit and I read how amazing it was to be so close to our Lord Jesus and his Mercy for us. With each of the words I read it I feel it more… hmm
I also have gotten a pocket Book of Saints and I have read through it. What I wonder is I see that these saints were blessed with visions by our Lord or something to give them a “sign” so my question is these have had happened so long ago. I was wondering if there was anyone in resent times have had such things happen. What makes me think about that is because this world as it is right now is in such sadness to me. Everything to me seems upside and it feels like the world has forgotten God. I was one lost in the world until I truly paid attention to Jesus calling me and I just keep thinking wow where have I been all this time? lol
I was reading a little book today called The Bible Promise Book and in it I just happened to fall on :

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because you have seen me,thou hast believed: blessed are those who have not seen, and yet believed-John 20:29

that really struck me… 🙂

There may certainly be people in the world who are receiving signs from God–visions, etc. We may not know about them because in general people are less devout than in the past. However, modern saints like Padre Pio and Josemaria Escriva have had visions.

In terms of visions, the Church will not even begin investigating until after the visions have ended, so some things that you may hear about happening possibly have not yet been investigated and ruled reliable or not, so there should be no advancement of that vision until after the investigation has completed. Of course, if the Church says that it is unreliable, we should not pursue it.

Finally, any visions etc are private revelation. That means that you do not have to support it or believe it as you do the public revalation taught by the apostles and the Church.

I love reading Saints lives and find them very inspirational. I really encourage you to continue doing that!

How can you say something like this? Just as there were horrible sinners before 1963 there are also saintly people post 1963. Really, this attitude that the Church was perfect and that everyone was devout in “the old days” is wearing very, very thin.
