Does the catholic currently have rules regarding communing and marital relations?

Thankyou

I wonder if you could clarify your question further?
When you say current, Catholic teaching on marriage hasn’t changed, being based on the bible.
By communing, are you referring to holy Communion?

Based on God’s word: some basic teaching regarding marriage from the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

What I mean is do married couples have to abstain from physical relations to fast for communion

If one is validly and licitly married by both Church and Civil standards, there is no universal bar/restriction.

It is tradition that the eucharistic fast includes abstaining from sex, but I’ve not seen that in Roman nor Ruthenian-American canon law. Likewise, it’s encouraged to abstain during the fasting seasons, but not required. Other churches sui iuris might have differences in their particular law on that score.

If not validly married, sex is forbidden; if not validly married and having sex, communion reception is forbidden (but pastors seldom inquire).

One couple I know just recently had their church marriage - on the aniversary of their civil marriage - and for the first time in years were able to receive. Many years to them!

There is no canon of the Latin Church that requires abstaining from marital relations prior to receiving Our Lord in Holy Communion (though a couple certainly could choose to do so as a pious practice - the Church has always encouraged the faithful, under the guidance of their priest, to do addtional penance beyond what is “required”). I have no idea if the Coptic Catholic Church, of which you are now a member, has such a particular law, but I doubt it. Perhaps Marduk would know.
