Just as a reminder to the original poster, female altar servers and EMHCs are permitted by the Church. I am “traditional” too but it hurts our cause when people make statements that go beyond the Church directives. (I realize you have graciously responded already to previous poster on this).
My rust belt diocese has huge numbers of sisters, all belonging to liberal religious orders with no vocations. They are rapidly aging out of the picture, sadly. (There is one tiny order in process of formation, orthodox).
We shrank rapidly in priests, though the decline has leveled off. Retiring priests, the ones I know of, are a mix of liberal and conservative. Newly ordained priests are all conservative AFAIK.
We have closed almost half our parishes in recent years, and many of the existing ones are hanging on a thread. It is sad because we have many churches that would be named the cathedral in many dioceses in the South and West, if angels would be willing to transport them there. Yet now they have maybe 100 mostly elderly people coming on the weekend.
We are clobbered by the steep decline in the Catholic birthrate; the limited programs for youth; and the very, very limited programs for young adults. On the positive side our current bishop emphasizes prolife far more than his predecessors. We have a strong base of home school families, Catholic radio, and families finally pressing for more orthodoxy in Catholic education programs. The young people who work for the diocese seem much more concerned about orthodoxy; the older ones seem hardly to have ever heard the word. (Problem? What problem?)
We get a lot of help from immigrant priests from Europe.
