Thats what I understand it is supposed to be. My question is really what IS it. I understand secrecy and why they might not want to have the wind stolen from their sails…but I also understand that many of us live in a spiritual wasteland. I want to make sure I’m not contributing to the squalor by taking part in a program that isn’t solidly founded in good, solid catholicism. I can drive a few short miles to any one of the parishes near me and get that.

There’s a reason my Parish is over 30 minutes away by interstate – even though I could walk to 2 of them in less time than that.[/QU

Check out this site to the Cursillo Center in Prairie Ronde Louisiana which is where I attended. The “secrecy” is that you dont want to show up with preconceived ideas. It is also not to divulge the way the weekend unfolds. You must have a sponsor and you will probably visit with a priest in your parish ahead of time. The Cursillo movement IS sound Catholic doctrine supported by the Roman Catholic Church and the clergy. Many priests have attended Cursillo.

what secrecy?
I posted a link to a site that answers all question which have been asked, and has lengthy descriptions and quotes from the materials used, and will make readily apparent the movement’s history and standing within the Church

Read UP! you DO NOT pour the sacred blood down the sacrarium! Where did you learn your Catholicism?!?!?!

you have never done this, have you? Canon 1376, read up!
You seem to be very angry where the Church is concerned. Is there anything you LIKE about the Church today? 🤷

You seem much more concerned about people’s attitudes than about truth…what’s up with you?

Ah, “attitudes” about the truth. Rather subjective, eh?

What do you LIKE about the Church today? Maybe a Cursillo is just what the Doctor ordered? 👍

You are quite a word-twister, aren’t you? That or you read posts too fast and not carefully enough.

I’lllet you re-read and determine the difference between what I wrote about truth and what you wrote about truth, because if you can’t keep that straight, no debate/discussion is possible here.

Have a nice weekend, Howard. 🙂

Well, at least you are paying a bit of attention.

However, in the previous law, you may find that was allowed. And the sacrarium is used for water that comes in contact with the sacred species.

could you boys take it outside and let the rest of us get back to the topic. if there are no further questions about Cursillo, can we close the thread?

Fine by me, bunch of wackos anyway.
I’m not sure which “bunch” you’re referring to.

If it’s the “bunch” you were on retreat with, maybe. I don’t know. I wasn’t there.

If it’s the “bunch” of us who have made Cursillos, then we are just as wacky as Holy Mother Church who has no problem with the Cursillo movement.

If it’s the “bunch” on this thread or forum, I invite you to find another forum which may be to your liking and where you might find members whom, when you insult them, will respond to you as charitably as others have here.

According to my priest, it IS proper to pour consecrated wine down the sacrarium. However, at our church he does not, because the sacrarium occasionally gets used for other things.

I’ll take his opinion over yours, thank you. 😉

Don’t take my opinion, take Redemptionis Sacramentum:

107.] In accordance with what is laid down by the canons, “one who throws away the consecrated species or takes them away or keeps them for a sacrilegious purpose, incurs a latae sententiae excommunication reserved to the Apostolic See; a cleric, moreover, may be punished by another penalty, not excluding dismissal from the clerical state”.[194] To be regarded as pertaining to this case is any action that is voluntarily and gravely disrespectful of the sacred species. Anyone, therefore, who acts contrary to these norms, for example casting the sacred species into the sacrarium or in an unworthy place or on the ground, incurs the penalties laid down.[195] Furthermore all will remember that once the distribution of Holy Communion during the celebration of Mass has been completed, the prescriptions of the Roman Missal are to be observed, and in particular, whatever may remain of the Blood of Christ must be entirely and immediately consumed by the Priest or by another minister, according to the norms, while the consecrated hosts that are left are to be consumed by the Priest at the altar or carried to the place for the reservation of the Eucharist.[196]
