While I was at Mass today, I was with a friend of mine that I used to be quite close to. She was also one that I shared the most laughter with; I have a very hard time keeping anything serious when it comes to us.
During the Mass, she cursed, not using a “small” curseword but one of the bleep-worthy cursewords. I gave her a shocked look, but I feel like I was smiling also when I did it, because as I said, I have a very difficult time keeping anything serious with her. Afterwards, I felt very bad, because I felt as though my half smiling look towards her was humoring cursing before receiving the Blessed Sacrament. I still received Holy Communion, because I was not sure if I had really committed a sin, or a mortal sin. To be clear, I asked her politely but seriously after Mass to not curse anymore during the celebration.
Did I respond very inappropriately to this? Should I still have taken Communion during the Mass?
