Have any of you used this prayer book? From what I have read about it, it is the liturgical office of the Anglican ordinariate. How does it compare to the LOTH? Would you recommend using it in place of the LOTH?

Some specific questions I have about this are:
  1. Does the psalms and canticles include seasonal/ferial antiphons?
  2. Is there non-Biblical readings included in the office?
  3. is it approved for liturgical use by all Catholic or just for Anglican converts? Also, is it approved for all English-speaking countries or just the U.K.?
  4. Is there any articles that you’d recommend on learning more about the history of this office?
Thanks!

I have seen it but not studied it in depth so wouldn’t be able to answer your specific questions.

It can be read on Google Books and the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham has a link to it on their website.

You could definitely pray it as a devotion. Unless you’re obliged to the LOTH you can use any approved Catholic form of the Divine Office.

I think the Customary is only for use in the UK. I don’t think it can be used as official liturgy in the Australian and North American ordinariates.

I believe that even those bound to the Office can recite any approved Office in private. For most Catholic priests it would, though, be lacking in that it has no Office of Readings or an equivalent.

Thank you for responding to my question. I will look at the preview.
