Cut military spending

I think just the opposite.
When so much money is spent for weapon, I think some of our folks are just itching to use some of that weaponry.
I read somewhere that our military budget is larger than the next 19 nations in the world. Thats a lotta dough-ray-me.

Trust me, no one wants to go to war, least of all a soldier, sailor, airman or Marine. But even if someone were itching to use a weapon, we have civilian control of our military.
Our budget is higher than other countries for three main reasons: 1) we have a volunteer force and therefore have to pay them better than other countries. 2) we have better weaponry, mobility, logistics and intelligence. 3) We take on more responsibility than other countries because we are the world’s largest economic power.
Our military spending as a percentage of GDP has dropped significantly over the last fifty years. We used to be over 6 percent of GDP.
We are now 3.2 percent.

A 4th reason – a some of our supposed allies have outsourced a significant portion of their national defense – to us.
