Cyber Gossip

I know in the past I have been mean to posters and am sorry for it. It was usually when they were for abortion or some other thing against our faith and I just responded with out thinking. Anyhow I am really trying to be a nice guy. Trust me it is harder than it sounds but I am going to hang in there. Mike Dye

IOW, we know for a fact that such would be sinful IRL; What is the degree of gravity when the people being discussed have anonymous identities to those doing the gossip?

HI Elizebeth Thank You, I don;t like it when people play games and (i know they do here) cause they go by differnt names and have differnt e-mails to but are the same people. i was reading that there is so much internet crime of all kinds that it has become a crime scene and people are getting prosecuted for this left and right. I joined tweeter to see what it was all about and I got a message this girl was following me and i had an option to delete but i just dont go there. I ame back and deleted the tweeter program. I dont know why she would want to follow me around, as i am rather new to computers, since DEC. I know I have seen some bad stuff without trying and I know people fight and even want your information.IT’s a zoo out there, and I agree they should be nicer to each other but they are not so Flee get away from them. lOL Nancy
 
^Of course, now you’re talking about mischief on the computer with regarding to identities and cyber-stalking: those who engage in deception by using multiple identities, as well as those who seek to invade the privacy and identity of others. That’s not what I mean by cyber gossip. I’m referring to collaboration by two users who engage in a joint private online conversation to tear down the character & personality of a third (or more) user(s).

I did refer in my earlier posts about those who cyber-stalk, but that was not in reference to the direct harrassment of those being stalked – rather the uncovering of identity so that the seeker & a partner could engage in an ongoing conspiracy of gossip.

Gee Elizebeth, you are pritty smart, I just started to use the computer, when these people that you are talking about do that, does it mean the whole world can view this? Like on a forum? LOL Nancy

I believe that talking bad about people especially your spouse just really reflects bad on you. I also do believe that it is always best to avoid talking bad about someone even anonymously and online. The way a heard a priest put it to me was that gossiping and talking bad about someone is like spitting directly up in the air, everything you spit out just comes right back down in your face. I believe that holds doubly true when it is your spouse you are talking about since you decided to marry them to begin with.

Talking about your spouse is a bad quality. This will help to quickly destroy your marriage, emotionally injure your children, build up suspicion in your friends and create an atmosphere of distrust, anger and pain-- Just what Satan wants.

What exactly is cyber? Is it ok to e-mail one person to confide in about some issues that you have and get some advice? I see no harm in that, do you? and to study? We do not have the priest here to run to when you have a problem. Can you tell me where the cyber places are so I never go there? I ask for prayers on the net and always ask they do not put it into a discussion and to keep it private. I just came on in in Nov. of 2008 and never had a computer before, so I do not understand alot of talk to do with it. God Bless Nancy
