Dad had heart attack, having quad. bypass surgery

Please pray for him…and my mom. She’s really, really scared right now. The surgery will probably be on Wednesday.

He has also finally asked for Baptism. We called a priest and he gave him the Anointing of the Sick, but said he’d have to take the classes when he gets better for Baptism etc… My dad has wanted to get Baptized and joined the classes before but he quit because he is very uncomfortable with the idea of getting up in front of the whole church. This fear is what’s holding him back…so please pray that he somehow gets Baptized also.

My love and prayer to you and your Mom, and your Dad, as he faces this surgery.
I thank God that he has handled the heart attack well enough to have surgery. Iimagine that your Mom isn’t the only one scared…and I ask Jesus to be with you all, and to be present for your Dad’s surgery.
It’s wonderful that your Dad has asked for Baptism. Please give him courage in faith, dear Jesus

Dad’s surgery is tomorrow at 7 am, I’ll be going to the hospital as soon as the kids get on the bus.

Tonight, my Dad’s brother showed up. They had a falling out after my grandma’s death 12 years ago and my uncle wouldn’t talk to my Dad, even after my Dad tried to call him and patch things up. This is an absolute miracle! I don’t know what it is about people that wait until a life/death situation to get their act together…:rolleyes:

But thanks so much for the prayers, he really needs them and so does my mom. She’s been with him since she was a teenager and she’s scared to death right now.
 
Continuing to pray for your Dad and your Mom. Will remember them especially tomorrow.
I’m so happy about your uncle. And I thank God very much for bringing him to your Dad again. What a gift!

Dad came throught he surgery very well. They did FIVE bypasses, yikes! He was so lucky to have caught this in time!

He was in a tremendous amount of pain last night and he’s got a difficult road ahead of him, so please continue to pray for him if you don’t mind. And for my mom who had a complete meltdown last night. She’s under an enormous amount of pressure to take care of everything around the house that my dad usually does, take care of a very stubborn dog that won’t listen to her, only my dad, work, take care of dad etc, etc. DH and I are going to try and take the dog (depending on how well he’ll get along with our dog) to take some of the pressure off of her AND my dad because he’s worrying about the dog and he just doesn’t need that worry right now.
