Funny, I don’t think that anything you said is true. Women are arrested for assault for hitting their male partners. I have actually seen this happen in front of my eyes. And I’m not sure where you’re getting the idea that society views women beating up on their husbands as ok.

Obviously Society must learn. Men are ***not ***punching bags. This is a prime example as to *why *there needs to be Mens Activist Organization *now! *

*There is **indeed *a ‘culture of discrimination against men.’

So. Would anyone llike to tell me of any safe houses for Men? Is there **any **‘Government Sponsored Programs’ to help men in this regard? Where are the ‘Battered Men’ Shelters -eh?:cool:

Yeeeaaaahhhhhhh… Methinks not…😦

I have harped on my Mom about this, with my Sister, she has no Dad, and is about to get a divorce - so she will have no father figure again… she has been leading down a Godless social path, as well. 😦

I am very,* very* sorry for your grief.

Fathers are considered ‘Disposable’ and Despicable today, thanks in no small part to Feminists.

Sooooo… Problem stated. What is the Answer? Methinks calling into account the Feminists is a good start. Fixing the legal system is yet another. Practicing the Faith certainly is a healthy choice as well.

Yes, starting in the 1970s, the radical, Marxist feminists used the classic class warfare model to demonize all men.

fathersforlife.org/pizzey/planned_destruction_of_family.htm

The goal was to grossly distort the idea of male-female relationships by replacing earned trust, friendship, respect and really getting to know the other person with the female being required to only play the user. The woman would choose which men she would use sexually and keep him or discard him. The evidence is very clear today. In movies and on TV, male chauvenist pigs meet female chauvenist pigs and they have “just sex,” like using a toilet. This may be suitable for dogs, but not human beings.

If the female gets pregnant, the man is automatically rendered null and void. It’s her body - and where was he when she got pregnant? In another room?

Great links!

Yes. Quite correct. This must be addressed. Males need to stand their ground against the denigrating Feminist ( I reiterate- Feminist - **not **to be equated with Female) onslaught.

You need to differentiate between feminists and radical feminists. The Church is not against feminism – but against radical feminism.

The reason there is more help out there — geared toward women-- is because in the majority of cases – it is women at the receiving end of the abuse.

From the link below – there are some resources – that offer help to battered men.

I keep seeing radical feminism being preached all the time in the media - today. That’s why men are disposable because the “sisters” in the movement are doing “it” for themselves. You don’t need no man. That’s been the consistent message since the radical Women’s Libbers first opened their mouths.

And they were not solution oriented regarding establishing better relations between men and women. That would have destroyed their class warfare goal: death to the family. God? Religion? Pfft! Who needs that?

 I think that the problem with your thinking is that you work off of the assumption that divorce happens because that’s what the woman wants. From there children live with their mothers because that’s what the woman wants. And of course, fathers eventually drop out of their children’s lives all together because that’s what the woman wants.

Children live with their mothers because of a bias in the family courts favoring them in custody (the tender years doctrine). Between 2/3 and 3/4 of divorces in the US are initiated by women - this is function of the cost/benefit calculus that women perform when doing so. A huge impetus for this is the relative change in financial status that flows with custody (the dollars follow the kids).

The more common scenario is that the woman spends years tracking down the man and begging him to be a father. But of course, why be responsible?
Evidence please. Any. Whatsoever.

I believe that that vast majority of mainstream feminists find the Church’s teachings far at odds with their views. Radical versus mainstream is a distinction without a difference.

Good Friday homily 2010 —by Fr. Cantalamessa – Preacher to Papal Household.

Preaching on Good Friday 2010 in the Basilica of St. Peter
But there is a more serious and widespread violence of that of youth in stadiums and squares. I am not speaking here of violence against children, which they stained unfortunately also elements of the clergy, it is sufficient talk outside of here.** I speak of violence against women. This is an opportunity to make persons and institutions that fight against it understand that Christ is their best ally.**
It is a violence all the more serious because it is often carried to the shelter of domestic walls, unknown to all, when it is not actually justified with pseudo-religious and cultural prejudices. The victims find themselves desperately alone and defenseless. Only today, thanks to the support and encouragement of so many associations and institutions, some find the strength to come out and denounce the guilty.
Much of this violence is sexual. It is the male who thinks he can demonstrate his virility by inflicting himself on the woman, not realizing that he is only demonstrating his insecurity and baseness. Even against the woman who made a mistake, what a contrast between the actions of Christ and that still going on in some circles! Fanaticism calls for stoning; Christ, to those who have presented an adulteress, he replied: “Let him who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her” (John 8: 7). Adultery is a sin that is always committed by two, but for which one has always been (and, in some parts of the world, still is) punished.
Violence against women is never so odious as when it nestles where should reign mutual love and respect in the relationship between husband and wife. It is true that violence is not always and wholly on one side, that you can be violent also with the tongue and not only with his hands,** but no one can deny that in the vast majority of cases the victim is the woman.**
There are families (even in Italy) where the man still believes himself authorized to raise his voice and hands on the women of the house. His wife and children at times live under the constant threat of '“wrath of Dad.” Such people should say amiably: “Dear fellow men, creating you male, God did not intend to give you the right to be angry and to bang your fist on the table for every little thing. The word addressed to Eve after the fault:” He (the man ) shall rule over you "(Genesis 3:16), was a bitter forecast, not an authorization.
John Paul II inaugurated the practice of the request for forgiveness for collective wrongs. One of them, the most just and necessary, is the forgiveness that half of humanity must ask the other half, men to women. It must not be generic and abstract. Must lead, especially those who profess Christian, to concrete gestures of conversion, to words of apology and reconciliation within families and society.

Please be advised that no one ever said that violence does not occur against women.

Advocating for equality for men does not translate into exploitation or subjugation of women.** Nor** does it mean to deny females their rights.

Here is a sample of a discussion of the facts of domestic violence.
fathersforlife.org/Sodhi/debunkingDV.htm and here: menstuff.org/issues/byissue/domesticviolence.html and here: oregoncounseling.org/Handouts/DomesticViolenceMen.htm What ever the actual truth is, it simply can no longer be denied, the high volume of female battering of males. Nor the* corresponding lack of services* for Battered Men in comparison to women. Nor the prejudiced legal and reporting system. Simple really.

You, of course, can choose to believe what you …wish.

Evidence please. Any. Whatsoever.
I’m going to have to ask that if you’re going to quote me you can’t add things to the quote that I didn’t say. If you want to respond in quote please use a different color.

What part of that do you want evidence of?

So someone points out the holes in your assertions and you respond by saying you don’t care?

What studies debunked what? How about one - just one - hyperlink supporting your position?
Links were posted earlier. And I responded that I didn’t care what the reasons were for infidelity or substance abuse, no matter what gender is doing it. There is never an excuse for that behavior and no one should look down on someone for divorcing an alcoholic or a cheater.

My response was in reference to hurtings post #28 – where he quoted me (reproduced below). The “Evidence please” – which I bold below – are hurting’s words. I took it to mean – that hurting wanted evidence – that the majority of abuse – was suffered by women. To which – I provided the homily. Since the majority of abuse is suffered by women – it is reasonable to say – that there are more types of help for the abused women.

What came to a shock to me – is that Christianity itself – has been/is being used to condone/justify the abuse of women.

A google search using --Christianity abuse women – was a real eye opener.

The APA, WebMD, and the MayoClinic all refer men to the national domestic abuse hotline, which will refer them to services in their area.
There are also many shelters that accept men. But here’s what you don’t understand. Shelters are there to protect women from their abusers. They are there for life and death situations. Men are far more likely to kill their partners than women are, and while there are abused men, there are not the number of men fearing for their lives as their are women. Of course they aren’t going to be funded equally, there isn’t an equal need. Now I would agree that they need to be funded proportionally. Battered women’s shelters are not resorts, they are places women go so that their boyfriends and husband won’t kill them for leaving. batteredmen.com/bathelpnatl.htm psychologytoday.com/blog/crimes-violence/201012/women-s-shelters-and-domestic-violence-services-save-the-lives-men

I guess I don’t really get what you’re arguing here. No one is saying that men should be treated poorly, or like they’re less than women. But I have a very hard time believing that men are living subservient lives to all of these powerful, man hating, amazonian women.

No, not every issue is going to be handled equally. But there isn’t an equal call for solutions to some problems from both genders. At least in the city that I went to college in its easier for men with severe anger issues to get free or discounted help than it is for women. But men tend to need anger management more than women do. Its easier for women to get help from pregnancy centers and places that help with care for infants, because women tend to need it more. I honestly couldn’t tell you about my current city because A. I haven’t lived here long enough, and B. My law program doesn’t require the same research into social services and local politics that my undergrad did.
