I think another practical advantage of a sung gospel is that it is slightly slower, and it gives you more time to think about the gospel, and let it sink in.

I have nothing against English, in fact, I received an Excellence in English award in high school (even though it’s not my first language), but English just doesn’t work in chant for me no matter who sings it, thanks. I’m glad you recognize the beauty in Hebrew, Greek, and Slavonic tongues, though. I’m always happy to see people appreciating music and hear Masses other than in English.

I didn’t say anything about the beauty of Hebrew, Greek, and Slavonic tongues. I just wrote that chanting has been done in those and other languages. (Though personally I find languages fascinating and l like all sorts of different languages.). Saying “English just doesn’t work in chant for me” is different than saying “English just doesn’t work in chant”.
