Hi guys,
At my school tonight (Dec 8), we have mass at 7:30 PM which is designated as “Immaculate Conception” mass and a mass at 9:45 PM which is designated as “Daily Mass.” Will the daily mass fulfill the obligation for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception?
Thanks

Yes, but it’s not permitted to offer any other Mass other than for the Immaculate Conception.

Then again, “Daily Mass” might simply mean it’s the Mass taking place at the regular weekday schedule, but is indeed still the Mass for the Immaculate Conception, and the 7:30 schedule is an extra one for the solemnity.

Any Mass celebrated before midnight tonight will fulfill the obligation.

BTW, it’s cool that they offer a later Mass in the evening! I’m a night owl, and I often can’t get myself to the one and only weekday Mass at my parish, which is 8:30am.
That’s fine for the elderly folks who are probably up at 5am, but come one – I wish a parish near me had a 10pm Mass. I’d be there almost every night! It kind of irks me that morning people sometimes have a stranglehold on things in this world 😃
