Dear All;

I just wanted to express my gratitude for the existence of Daily mass!

I have been away from the church- out of communion, though still a believer for a few years.

My Lenten journey brought me back, after a distinct calling from God.

Today I went to my first Daily Mass. I was worried about going, and under confident. What put me off was if it was a small gathering- people ‘looking’ - etc… I’m quite an under confident person.

But it was great! It was small, but the simple celebration made me think of the first Christians meeting to celebrate the Eucharist. It was peaceful, and gave me more time to reflect and be more prayerful.

I’d encourage anyone to go. It’s only 30 mins, and it really helps to start the day.

It is the same one the apostles had at the Last Supper. Jesus loved them to the end. We are so blessed to have his same love. “He who eats my body and drinks my blood lives in me and I in him.”

May God bless and keep you. May God’s face shine on you. May God be kind to you and give you peace.

We have a 12 noon Mass every day except Monday (when out priest gets some free time), and on Mondays we have a short service of the Liturgy of the Word and Holy Communion, led by the Eucharistic Ministers.

After being confirmed at the Vigil, I went to this Monday’s service and thought how peaceful it was, formal and yet informal, too.

Welcome back and congratulations! I used to have the same worries as you did, but now I realize what I great blessing it has been. I am so thankful I am able to go to daily Mass

Amen. There is nothing like daily Mass. No matter what may happen to me for that day; at least I am secure in knowing I have received the Body & Blood, Soul & Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ. I can take anything the day hands me.

Also appreciate that not all have the possibility to enjoy their daily bread. I wish I had but I will probably have to wait a long time for that. St. Maximilian Kolbe said that if angels could be jealous of men, they would be jealous for Holy Communion.

I’ve been really trying to get into the habit of Daily Mass. It really does help to start the day off so well, it’s just a question of getting myself out of bed. 😉

Out of all the known forces in the universe the strongest one is undoubtedly the force that keeps you in bed and hitting the snooze button. 😃

It is hard to get out of bed and make daily mass. But one thing I have found that helps is to make a firm commitment to just get up early regardless. Start out by planning your morning routine including mass and figure out what time you need to get up. Then set your alarm to go off sometime before when you actually need to get up (allow yourself some wiggle room, especially at the beginning). Finally, just always get up that early regardless of whether or not you need to. Once you get in the habit of doing it daily, then daily mass becomes much easier.

Other things that help are having something to get you going in the morning: like a strong shot of espresso or a morning run. And also, maybe planning something that will get you excited about getting up: like watch an episode of your favorite TV show, or allow a few minutes to play a game you like. The idea is, if you have a fun activity to encourage you out of bed, you’re more likely to get up and going on time.

In any case, just food for thought for those who may struggle with the daily mass obligation! Hope it helps! 🙂

You have some really excellent advice here. It’s a habit that can be difficult to get started, even when we do know all the benefits we can reap by going to Daily Mass. But once we can get started and maintain the habit, it really does become much easier.

I often need help getting out of bed in general, whether it’s going to class or going to Mass, so I think I will definitely start trying to find a way to get me excited to get out of bed in the morning. Every little bit helps. 👍

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re back!

I too was a bit intimidated the first weekday Mass I attended, but then totally fell in love with it. The peacefulness is amazing, and the Mass I attend at noon has two of the most amazing priests I’ve ever met (although our dioceses in the area are very blessed with amazing priests).

I’ve never regretted a Mass I attended, but have rued the days I’ve missed.

Thank you for sharing your experiences!
