Daily Missal for Ordinary Mass

Hi,

Just looking for suggestions for a single volume latin/english (2002 nova vulgata) daily (weekday and sundays) missal for post-Vatican II masses. Whew. Hope this book exists 🙂

The Daily Roman Missal is ideal because it has the Sunday, Daily, Solemnities and Feasts for the Mass, including prayers in English and Latin. However, it will set you back by close to $100.

If I were you, I would invvest, for now, in the monthly publication called Magnifact. It has the readings for the entire given month, along with meditations and Morning and Evening Prayer. The reason why I caution against buying the Daily Roman Missal (I have one and I love it) is because the new translation of the Roman Missal will come out in 2010 or 2011 and the prayers are going to change, some looking dramatically different.
 
I’m gonna go ahead and get this, but which edition do you have? There are several on amazon when i searched for “Daily Roman Missal” and i can’t tell if they’re all the same book by the same publisher with different covers/sizes etc, or if they’re really different.

Sorry to seem dense on this; I grew up Presbyterian and we just cut down trees for bulletins instead of using missals, so I’ve never been exposed to “missal-y” things before 😛

It is published by Our Sunday Visitor. And it is edited by Msgr. Socias, I believe.

However, before spending the bucks, I would invest in a subscription to Magnificat because two years down the road, what you bought today will be obsolete. Once the new translations come out, then buy the expensive, permanent version.
 
Saint Joseph Missal’s are good. Published by Catholic Book Publishing Company.
