Hi all…8.54pm here in South Australia on Sunday 4.1.09 and I hope this great Feast of The Epiphany may bring a living spiritual epiphany epiphany experience into your own lives. Amen.

I have am just about to open to the public my first Blog titled “Catholic Daily Liturgy & Prayer” which will have as I anticipate things now pretty much the same format as the Monthly Daily Prayer and Liturgy thread which I would update daily via two posts daily as always. Doubtelss, since I am relatively new to the blogging experience teething problems will occur probably and will need adjusting. I will do my best.
This blog will be open to the public either tonight or tomorrow sometime. Here is the link:

This blog will be reference blog only and no comments by the public or others will be permitted.

Second Blog at some point
Daily Meditation Blog with associated Yahoo Discussion Group for discussion on the Gospel and Meditations if anyone should like to do so.
When this opens I will advise into this thread also as with any matter connected to the commencement of any blog etc. with link. I am hoping not to have to post into this thread often at all. It is simply an advice thread although quite open to all posts if anyone wishes to post here.

Third Blog at some point
This will be a general comment on spiritual and related types of matters including links to articles that appeal to me and I hope might to some others. This blog will also include comment on mental illness in general and related matters. This blog, again, will also include commentary on Catholicism as a human institution purely with positive factors and critical comment etc. and other related matters.
This may well have a Yahoo Group associated with it for discussion on any of the above.

Fourth Blog at some point
This will be my life story from earliest memories up to today including my journey with mental illness and related matters. All identies will be obscured as will various organizations, religious institutions etc. etc. etc. to protect both the innocent and the guilty, although it is my experience being a guilty party that the guilty are extremely well versed and skilled in protecting themselves as a potential only for sure.

Undoubtedly those who may know me and some of my journey from childhood to this point may recognize themselves perhaps in my story as it unfolds and perhpas others familiar with a particular part or anecdote in my life - but every effort will be made for no one to be able to be identified except to themselves.
I will be using, not always but at times, a method used by our Gospel writers we now know in that essentials are retained, but perhaps incidentals around the essentials not historical. This will be simply to protect all identities of any kind. In fact I may adopt my own personal code for names and identities of any kind including institutions, companies, places etc. etc. etc.
At this point, this blog will also be open to the public but comments will be read by only me and not necessarily published on the blog.

I am undertaking the above after consulting my director via phone and a couple of phone calls in fact. My life of formal prayer times and simple penance in the spirit of St. Therese will be as always. And while I will daily update the Liturgy and Daily Meditation Blogs, the other two may not be at all daily updated as I plan to introduce discipline as far as time spent on any blog is concerned.
As well as the above Bethany as lifestyle will continue as always including the above as both Bethany apostolates and obedience including the prime apostolate of Bethany, which is the “Apostolate of The Sick” as it was once known which has a unique spirituality of its own. Sadly it seems now defunct in The Church as I never read about it any more, nor mentioned anywhere, well not by me to date in later years. It was once regarded as a vital and important apostolate in the life of The Church that only those unwell, ill or incapacitated, disabled in any way could actually undertake as this was the common bond of the apostolate. Others of course could adopt aspects of the particualr spirituality. Undoubtedly there will be more of this in my third blog once it is up and running.
Within Bethany as lifestyle too the phone and doorbell will still be open to any who call whatsoever needing some sort of assistance including financial to a certain limit. I am classed as on the “poverty line” or slightly below actually - but I do have a continual float here in Bethany for lending small amounts of money rather than have people in this very poor area pawn goods because they desperately need money…and very often never able to buy them back at a huge interest rate as pawnbrokers round her do.
At times here in Bethany as a work of Bethany I also sometimes throw a BBQ or cook a dinner or lunch to bring people together on apurely social level. In fact, when I have social functions or attend any of any kind it is to celebrate Jesus who for our sake - we humans without exmeption, became fully human to live, suffer and die for us and to open Heaven for all.
I sometimes state if appropriate “the crucifixion was an exterior manifestation of an interior disposition” - that is Jesus was a spiritual martyr long before Calvary.

I am woman and notorious for mind changes and sometimes from one polarity to another and I am skilled at it from long experience all my life from childhood. Not only this but God’s Will unfolds in each and every day as circumstances operating change. That is my story and I am sticking to it:D . I doubt very much I will have time to be active on CAF as I once was, although it would be great to do so.

MMMMmmmm “can’t keep a good woman down” is not Scriptural to my knowledge and hence open to total debat and contradiction etc. etc…obviously it is now apparent, one cannot keep a bad woman down either:D

I know it comes directly from a very sensitive, caring and loving, sincere heart alert for the suffering and/or I suspect the underdog in anyway - a streak of tenacity too is very obvious, if perhaps further to go on the “insight into all others” factor:) … mind you, I can often not find the ladder to “insight” at all, let alone make an attempt to get my foot on the first rung!!!😃

Very special person areya I am very sure Babes, and I am sure a most encourginag and affirming member of CAF here and so keep up the good work and dont let discouragement deter you - “everday as long as each day lasts, keep encouraging one another” is the ideal on which I can fall far far short.

I just want to comment on the above from my second post into this thread and part 2 of my Opening Post. I am trying hard not to be controversial in any way although this thread of course is open to any and all comments, even suggestions which I will weigh up and consider with care prayerfully and then make a decision either to adopt and incorporate or not to. Over and above that prayer of course is not guarantee of infallibility ever…it does mean however that if one does make a mistake even a huge one that God has allowed it because He intends to bring a greater good out of it than the actual mistake. We may or may not sight this actual good - but happen it will. This is the intrinsic meaning of “all things work together for those that love God” St. Paul Verse 28 HERE - it is doubtless also based on the theological understanding, at least in part for sure, and definition of God’s Will as having two aspects - His Direct and also His Permissive will. A subject for one of myBlogs at some point - I am yet to Blog Title three of them.

What I meant is my “incidentals around the esentials not historical” it should read “not necessarily historical strictly in some instances”. In other word one event in the life of Jesus and what He said in the Gospels may not of strict necessity have actually taken place immediately before the next event in the Gospels which is a point of history or historical accuracy. Something like that. Where the Blog on my journey to date is concerned my prime focus always will be to ensure that identifying any one person in any one place is obscured which means that my life journey is in essence always truthful while I am striving that no person but perhaps the actual person themselves will be able to identify in any way whom I might be writing about. I learnt Creative Writing and instructions and exercises in such matters, reading about them and researching them were intrinsic to the subject.
Also with studying Modern History (French and Russian Revolutions as well as World War One - the Great War and War to end all Wars:rolleyes:, which of course has never happened***) to quote reliable sources and how to discern what was reliable in source information and what was not in every likelihood was almost a subject within Modern History.

Remembering that all human knowledge is fallible as are the humans who repeat it etc. etc. etc. We can only do our best with integrity and striving for honesty. Something like that.

*** Note: World War One was our last world war, but we have no guarantees that there will not be another. What really got WW1 up and running was the treaty policies which still exists between countries. There were other factors connected to treaties too which applies again today. Treaties between countries promise to assist each other under enemy attack and so a domino priciple can occur and one after the other through treaties draw another country in and then another until the whole world is at war again. Well, that was my assessment on WW1 based on various information from various sources including my tutor and hence entirely fallible.

Well I hope it might do some good somewhere and I am confident that it will and since it is going to ask that I highly discipline my days, it is going to do me a whole heap of good for it will take much application and determination in the face of failure and other qualities in face of failure too…I am not a person with a natural ability to live a totally and very highly disciplined way of life (as it is really going to demand to keep things going as normal). Now and then I might fluke it inadvertently most often. No longer anyway at 65 years of age.

When I was younger for sure I was very skilled at being very highly discplined…loss of practise perhaps has mean the gift neither needs much high polishing, or indeed the gift is withdrawn…the other alternative is that at 65yrs of age and for many a year not having to live very highly disciplined indeed (and by this I mean by the clock - set times for set things every day) that I am going to find it outstandingly difficult and with many failures asking persevance in the face of failure.
I expect in the beggining to have far more failures than any sort of success.

Note - and please Zooey, no criticism of you personally at all, just a general comment on a word you used for which I do thank you.
Firstly I know it is politically correct to use “ministry” most everywhere but strictly speaking a ministry is affirmed publicly in some way by some level of priestly authority in The Church as per this definition from a Catholic dictionary here . Over and above that I have never liked the sound of the word anyway (from a poetic sounding point of view, being a writer and poet of kind).
Rather I prefer “Apostolate” which actually Bethany as lifestyle and connected works of Bethany strictly sepaking actually are to be strictly politically correct in Church terms:“Apostolate” from Catholic Dictionary since nothing about Bethany nor the works of Bethany have anything whatsover (deliberately chosen by me) about them authorized by Catholic heirarchy as outlined in the definition. I am a complete lay “freelancer” exercising an Apostolate for the sake of The Kingdom involving all my days every day quite voluntarily with no demand by authority to do so of any kind on any level (rather for God and The Kingdom that Jesus, His Son, through His Holy Spirit, established on earth within us and to The Glory of Our Father) - all under private vows…nothing is canonical nor authorized in anyway whatsoever by our heirarchy.

I am not in an official Church sense “consecrated” other than the call and consecration of my Baptism (a public and canonical consecration of type) which underwrites and is foundational to any sort of official consecration at all on any level. Our Baptism consecrates and calls us to live our lives for the sake of The Kingdom in some way and in some state of life, which includes in potential the single state, according to God’s Will.
Over and above that to my writer’s and poetic ear “Apostolate” has a better “sound” about it than “Ministry”, the latter word, Ministry, which I experience personally to both my inner and outer ear as a very cold term lacking any sort of warmth. It has an aura of authority connected to it too, which is rightful since it is a term used with the strict Catholic definition that it does have as a matter of Catholic heirarchy approval of the particular minsitry,

All being well the Daily Liturgy and Prayer blog is now up and running, although I will not begin to post actual daily entries until tomorrow and will try to post tomorrow for the two to three next days so that the blog is always a few days ahead of the current date. I hope! This blogging is new to me but I daresay as I get some experience I will find my way around and understand more.

At the moment there is the monthly liturgical overview for January 2009 and a bit of an introduction in two different entries. Tomorrow I should post 7th - 10th January 2009 - I hope.

Howdy MV:thumbsup: …loveya back!!!..I will be posting information and links to each blog as it is opened to the public (it will take time however before I am sufficiently happy with them to make public on the internet), including any associated Yahoo Groups for commentary and discussion. I am trying to get my blog link into my signature on CAF here without much success at this point and as soon as I can will contact “Help” after I have another try - some sort of computer glitch also my computer really needs a technician! As yet, my desk and time overflows!..and he just may need to take this computer away to fix it and I can’t do without it at this point. C’est la vie!

I think, MV, that if my ancient and tired computer and browser will set up a Blog or Blogs and anything else, I then would surely hope that no browser would have problems. I hope:thumbsup:

Thanks MV!.."Every day keep encouraging one another " Introductory to The Divine Office…Laus Dei!

I must admit that Blognow and an Aussie internet option (free) for blogging is about to me the best I have come across and so easy to operate, since even I seem to be making progress in that. I sent one message off to their “Contact” desk and within 24hours I had a really excellent answer! I need to experiment a bit more with layout so it is clear and standardized. But at least I have Wed6Jan09 up (tonight posting for Thur7th) and open to the public in pretty much the same format I was using here in the “Daily Prayer and Liturgy” thread…and will eventually get a couple of days ahead with the daily entries just in case something should go wrong and I am unable to post.
I have another three blogs on the way at some point, but not yet ready for publication on the internet…maybe another one as well, but this is still on the ‘debating table’…not yet even up as anywhere near yet on ‘the drawing board’…
Sometimes when one’s little kingdom (as I had here on CAF when I was very active) comes crashing completely around one and leaves at once a shock and a dreadful and painful vacuum and (now dont laugh!:rotfl: …only I am allowed to laugh at me ) life itself seems to come apart. OHHHHH!!! THE DRAMA OF IT ALL:o
The first postitive thing that happend and put me in tears was I fell over this on the internet looking for something else…

There may be one with Jesus embracing a male too and I hope that there is!!!
and it put me in tears, balling me olde eyes out actually. And further investigation tells me that for $10USA plus conversion fee and postage, I can have a 8x10 print I can buy via PAYPAL - and I can hardly buy anything on the internet really because so few want PAYPAL…most want credit cards only. Until my print arrives, I will copy and frame a cut and paste from the site. As well as that I have a beautiful thick beautifully engraved gold frame that I have had for years with a (ho hum!😃 ) oil painting in it and I got it somewhere or other only for the frame. Guess where my print will go!👍 …and central to my oratory with two simple candles either side with a long standing brown and gold cross with gold corpus above it.

The truly appalling thing about this situation especially is when these sudden dreadful disasters happen and disaster funds set up, I have yet been able to come across a Disaster Fund Donation point on the internet that will take PAYPAL…all want credit cards. I would not have a credit card if I won the lottery.

Other than that I have opened my PM Inbox to “Buddies” and moderators but I am not too sure at all how often I will be checking my PM Inbox at this point, nor how active I might be on CAF generally once I can get things here in Bethany back into control. If I happen to have missed anyone, it is because of my dreadful memory but if you let me know if you find my PM box is blocked, I will put you on my “Buddie” List. I have been active on CAF over a few years now and hard to recall all my “Buddies”. So much went wrong seemingly at once both on CAF and in other non computer related matters, and at a time when I had a few works of Bethany matters to deal with - and this jolly computer bad decided now and then that it knew better than me and did its own thing. Nothing serious, just jolly annoying.
Anyone know if putting someone on one’s “Ignore” list it means they cannot send one PM’s either? If not, I will ask in the “Help” forum.

So when things are going wrong in some way and getting us down, there just may be a reason for it all and Jesus has a different something for you to undertake…but first what was may need to be abandoned and Jesus has His Ways of accomplish more than the mind can imagine “with the one stone”. Reminds me of that great line from Ye Even More Ancient Than I, Bobby Dylan, or Dylan if you are game!..“everybody must get stoned”. Now I think everyone mostly got it wrong. We all know what the street meaning of “stone” is but consider this - the stoning of the woman taken in adultery ( Read the whole Chapter-not veryl ong ) …yep all of us must get stoned if we are true for “they have persecuted me and they will persecute you”. Dear Olde Dylan such a genius tis he does not use a word unless it can give at least three totally different meanings.

PS…and it is in the anecdote from the New Testament and the life of Jesus that we read of the only and only time that Jesus every wrote…in the story of the woman taken in adultery. Scripture scholars and others have theorized about what could have or perhaps was written in the sand by Jesus…but what it was exactly Jesus wrote, we do not know - only possibly or potential theories, speculations.
Whatever Jesus did write it stunned a murderous angry self righteous crowd into a state of what seems to be shocked inertia…so much so that they disobey their religious laws and abandon their stones and stoning like a bunch of ‘stunned mullets’ as we would call it here in Aussie lingo.

I have a failing far too often in that I lurk and read posts and threads and something will fair hit me between the eyes I need to know in some way, but I say nothing in the thread such as I have read other posters have the caring and Charity to say - eg

I did a Search and found my answer re Private Messaging in that those on a member’s Ignore List cannot send PMs to them and are blocked from doing so.

Here is the Post from the Help Forum:

Hence I have now opened my PM Inbox as before for all members and moderators etc…but I just may be slow in answering but answer I will…Barb:)
Edit: While rearranging the Options for my PM’s as above, I checked my Inbox and what happens with PMs from those on one’s Ignore List is that they do arrive as being PM’s from a member on one’s Ignore List and then one has the option of reading, deleting completely, or storing read or unread into a PM Folder.

Howdy Wayne - me brud - across yon waters!

I dont know how things are going to ‘sit’ once things here have sorted themselves all out and back running normally again - whatever that is:D . Certainly I will be nowhere near as active, I dont think anyway, as I once was on CAF - although in my Blog I may pick up on subjects in CAF Forums and comment on them.

Unsure as yet how my third blog will unfold, since we cannot know the future, unfoldings are only in the unfoldings. Once I have the Daily Liturgy Blog running smoothly and I am still striving to get to that point, I will then set up a BLog for Daily Gospel Meditations and probably a connected Yahoo Group if anyone would like to discuss some aspect of the Mass Readings and Gospel. Well this is how things look just now but again what will be in the unfoldings as the days pass may well dictate the direction and provide (name removed by moderator)ut re any decisions etc.

My Third Blog will be a mix of all things Catholic including spirituality, Mental Health and Illness issues, Psychology (my brother rang the other night and is sending me another book by Dr. Wm. Glasser (now dec’d) connected to Glasser’s Reality Therapy and Choice Theory) current affairs and anything else that may strike me in some way. It will be a regular mismatch of many things:

As things appear now. Whether I will write my life journey to now remains on the shelf for the moment as I am unsure absolutely as to whether this is a path, although I could if it seems worth it keep the Blog private and see how I go and whether I want to publish or not. It can wait! and no rush at all.

At some point, I am setting up a wesite to link the Blogs etc., and of course will post the link into CAF here. How long it will take I have no idea…the unfoldings are only in the unfoldings…

Yep! We have Heaven to hope for ! But while here and obviously if we are still here God has His Reasons for us here and work to be done - or we simply would not be here at all, I like to remember that God saw what He created and “saw that it was good”. I truly love this beautiful and incredible universe and all in it!..although I can have my moments:D …

My brother is trained in these particualr therapies and also lectures in them…including to me:mad: … but I really do appreciate both the therapy and the theory as as a type of therapy(I trained many years ago now in Non Directive Therapy)…and psychological theory.
