First off, I will be seeing a potential Spiritual Directer tomorrow at 11 AM. Please pray that we may come to an understanding.

Next, I would like to draw your attention to a series of daily prayer books that are available from this source…

I have bought one of those books, DIVINE INTIMACY, and it is indeed a treasure. You get daily readings throughout the year, consisting of a meditation and a colloquy. Father Gabriel was a Carmalite, and this book is a wonderful introduction to understanding this sort of spirituality.

This book has become a solid part of my two hour of devotion, Midnight - 2 AM.

One minor problem for some people is that the reader is based on the old Church calandar with the traditional feasts. The last Sunday of October (today) used to be the Feast Of Mary, Mother Of The Dying.

This was also the traditional day for the Feast Of Our Lord Jesus Christ The King, and the reading is based on the Tridentine Mass. But don’t let that worry you. Father Gabriel was an excellent writer, and you will have no trouble following his thoughts.

And the daily “colloquy” is actually a long prayer based on the meditation, and always well written.

Can you ever have too many prayer books and devotional books in your life?

Well, maybe you can. I have been told that I have a mind like a mousetrap, but that I have to learn how to let some of the poor mice go.

In any case, for those of you who might have an interest in daily Readers, this is a good source.👍
