Is there a key to help someone set it up for a particular mass? I understand there are different cycles, but when it comes to setting up something like a Virgin and Martyr it gets complicated. I looked online and didn’t find any help.

I have this book and have the ribbons set up like this.

Red ribbon at the Creed, page 576 in my edition.

White ribbon at the start of the week’s Masses. This week it is the 2nd Week in Ordinary Time, page 784.

Black ribbon at the readings. On Sunday it was Cycle B, page 787. On Thursday 22 January 2009 it is year I, page 797.

Crimson ribbon at the Proper of Saints. For January 22, St Vincent (deacon and martyr, optional memorial) page 1474.

I have added permanent tabs, like small Post It Notes, for Eucharistic Prayers. I page 683, II page 703, III page 711, IV page 721. Then another for the Our Father, page 733.

A liturgical calendar can be helpful for finding the readings for a given day. In Australia there is the Ordo or St Paul Liturgical Calendar.

I have never worked with this missal, so I cannot offer any particular advice as to its use, but I would suggest that you consult the table of contents for any instructional materials which might appear at the very beginning. They should give you some clue as to how the book is organized. If not, then you could try looking around at the publisher’s website or writing to them to see if they sell (or would provide you with) a missal “guide,” which would give you with page numbers for the prayers and readings for daily and Sunday Masses and feasts and more specifics on the organization.

Also, this page has liturgical calendars through Year of Grace 2010.

I think I broke the code by using it with a televised Mass. It took all the ribbons for St. Agnes.
