Those are contradictory statements. In the same article. Is he not a Buddhist? If so, than doesn’t he accept Buddhism as the best religion? And if he does, wouldn’t he always attack active homosexuality as disordered and sinful, rather than stating one thing and another? Isn’t Buddhist morality for everyone? I note this trend alot in His Holiness, one minute he declares that Buddha is his master and that his teachings relieve the world of suffering, the next he declares that Buddha’s words should be disregarded if disproven by scientific enquiry. I don’t understand. Though, I do admire his contributions to non-violence greatly, and I would love to talk with him.
