I’ll be visiting Dallas soon. Any suggestions for a reverent OF Mass? Also, quiet Parishes are helpful to me, as I get distracted easily. Some Parishes have a lot of talkers right before Mass. Thanks for your help.

PS I ask for OF because EF is easy enough for me to find on my own.

I’ve never been to a mass at either Church, but in downtown Dallas you have St. Jude’s Chapel, and the Cathedral of Guadalupe.

Like I said, I’ve never been to mass at either of them. I tend to go to St. Patrick’s. It’s in north Dallas and the morning masses are generally pretty peaceful. St. Patrick’s morning mass is… I think at 6:30 on Holy Days of Obligation. You’ll have to check their website to be sure.

Dallas is huge. With Fort Worth, the DFW area is the largest metropolitan area in the United States. It would be helpful to know in what part of town you’ll be staying.

I’ll be in a few places-- FW, North Dallas, and downtown Dallas. Thanks!

Unlike my memory, Phil is correct. I can’t speak to Dallas, but St. Patrick’s cathedral in Fort Worth has a very nice mass that I suspect the OP will find acceptable.

What part of Dallas? For the most part, Dallas parishes do a really good job with liturgy.

When I was in Fort Worth, I enjoyed going to St. Patrick’s Cathedral at lunchtime, and St. Mary of the Assumption on Magnolia on Sunday. I liked St. Mary’s because the priest was an Episcopal priest convert, so he had an interesting perspective-- the enthusiasm of a convert, a wife, and really embraced the tangibles, like incense all the time. I think he’s since retired, however, so I don’t know how it currently is.

When I was there, the local FSSP community used to meet there for Latin Mass on Sundays. They since were able to establish their own parish, over in Irving. I’ve been two or three times, whenever I go back to the area, and they’re lovely people. They no longer maintain their presence at St. Mary of the Assumption, but it looks like they’re over at St. Benedict’s— which is less central/downtown, and more towards the Lake Worth area.

Whenever I’m in downtown Dallas, I usually attend the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe if I’m walking, or drive to Irving to Mater Dei. When I’m more in the Richardson area, I’ll go to St. Joseph’s. I don’t remember talkers at either of those places.

That’s where I went this morning. Beautiful Cathedral. Their next mass is at 12:05.

I know you didn’t ask for an Eastern Catholic parish, but when we’re in the Dallas area we go to St. Basil 's in Irving.
