Dan Rather Report: SSPX vs Progressive Dissent Group

This link describes an intriuging idea for a news report

The blurb at least makes it sound like they tried hard to comprehend both sides. I don’t have cable, but I may have to track this one down. It’s always good to hear people’s thoughts in their own words.

The one problem I have is that he’s giving voice to two opposing dissident groups, but NOT to anybody in legitimate authority to speak for the Church. Sounds like an incomplete report, but I’d like to hear it anyways.
 
It sounds like an interesting show. Rather is not a journalist I particularly trust to give a fair assessment of the Catholic Church, but some of the comments in the link are spot on. For example:
Journalists treat the Church like any other organization, interested in influence and self-preservation, but while it may sometimes be those things, that lens is flatly insufficient.

There are three sides to this story, and they only gave us two. They should have also interviewed a bishop who is in good standing with Rome, who could have explained why both of these groups are in schism with the Church. This would have given non Catholics an idea of what the real issues are with these groups, and what the official Church teachings are on the moral matters discussed in the news story.

Has the show already aired? Did you see it? Did they cover things fairly? Did John Allen or Dan Rather explain the official Church teachings in contrast with the two groups?

I was only going by what I read in the article. I’m assuming that the story has already aired, because the article said it was going to air on Tuesday. I looked for it on YouTube, but all I found was a 30 or so second promo for it, which I didn’t look at. The Yahoo News article gave quite a bit of information though.
 
You can get it on iTUNES I think I might buy this one.
