I interpreted Daniel 11 some years back in various forums starting in 2017. Some places deleted my post, primarily Evilangelical platforms because it did not fit in with their interpretations which always is in favor of the violent among Daniel's people instead of seeing their wrongs. However, everything given to my brother Daniel is very clear to me. I'm going to interpret it again step by step because we are in his prophecy given. I will couple it to Esdras who was given follow-ups to Daniel's.
The Kings of the South and the North
1“And as for me, in the first year of Darius the Mede, I stood up to confirm and strengthen him.
2“And now I will show you the truth. Behold, three more kings shall arise in Persia, and a fourth shall be far richer than all of them. (This is a stepping off point of Persia's last four kings before it was overthrown and invaded. At the time of its overthrow Darius III reigned)And when he has become strong through his riches, he shall stir up all against the kingdom of Greece. 3Then a mighty king shall arise, who shall rule with great dominion ( This is the rise of Alexander the Great) and do as he wills. 4And as soon as he has arisen, his kingdom shall be broken and divided toward the four winds of heaven, but not to his posterity, nor according to the authority with which he ruled, for his kingdom shall be plucked up and go to others besides these.( Alexander the Great's reign was short lived about three and half years. So as soon as he rose up, he quickly descended.)
After Alexander the Great's reign, the Persian Empire was divided and primarily ruled by the Seleucid Empire and the Ptolemaic Kingdom. The Seleucid Empire, established by Seleucus I Nicator, controlled a significant portion of the former Persian territories, while the Ptolemaic Kingdom, founded by Ptolemy I Soter, established itself in Egypt, which was a major part of the Persian Empire. These empires continued to influence the region for centuries, with the Seleucid Empire eventually being absorbed by the Parthian Empire and later by the Sassanian Empire.
As we begin to read paragraph 5 it has nothing to with the Seleucid Empire. Though many Protestants assert that it does because they cannot interpret scripture properly. They equate the king of the south with Egypt. That is not so. Egypt had already loss the splendor of its earlier centuries. What is being said in chp 5 is in association to who was rising in power DURING the reign of Alexander the Great. It has nothing to do with the middle east except for trade. This is when the Silk Road began to expand and that is during the time of Alexander the Great. Now, some will argue, "well it says king of the south, that means south of Persia". No, it doesn't.
God is speaking in respect to rise in power and Egypt was not in rise but in continual decline at this time. So, you must look from the perspective of God after all He is the author. During the time of Alexander the Great- During the time of Alexander the Great, the region known as Rus' was primarily inhabited by Norsemen, who settled along the river-routes between the Baltic and the Black Sea. The name "Rus'" is believed to have originated from Old Norse, and it gradually evolved into "Russia" over time. The Rus' people played a significant role in the formation of the medieval state known as Kievan Rus', which was centered around the city of Kiev and included parts of modern-day Ukraine, Belarus, and western Russia.
So, from that perspective, God is showing us differing kingdoms and from the perspective of God given Daniel, he is showing a land mass that has a southern and northern portion. China began to become strong during the Silk Road period.
Zhang Qian
The Chinese leader who created the Silk Road is Zhang Qian. He was an envoy during the Han Dynasty (206 BCE – 220 CE) and is credited with opening up trade routes to the West, which laid the groundwork for the Silk Road network. His explorations and reports significantly contributed to the understanding of the cultures and economies beyond China, facilitating trade and cultural exchanges between East and West
However, it was during Alexander the Great's reign that the Silk Road expansion grew strong.
The Silk Road became well established in 336 BC with trade with the West via Alexander the Great's conquests. Alexander's campaigns expanded trade routes, linking China with the Mediterranean and facilitating
the exchange of goods and ideas. The Silk Road was a vital network for commerce and cultural exchange, significantly impacting the civilizations of the time.
5“Then the king of the south shall be strong,( the king of the south mentioned here is Zhang Qian) but one of his princes shall be stronger than he and shall rule, and his authority shall be a great authority. ( at no other time has China been as powerful, as it is today. So, the following verse has to do with an alliance China has made with what was called ancient Persia. Keep in mind, all is relative to the history of Persia's kings. The rise of kings and how, Persia fell to Alexander the Great, and then was parceled and controlled by other kingdoms. Those kingdoms after Alexander caused a mix of races to intertwine genetically among Persians. so, most Iranians today have mixed racial backgrounds. There is no pure Persian per-say. The following verse then is speaking to an alliance that would be formed with Iran by China. We have to step off from modern day China to understand this alliance. With sanctions and tariffs, China came to the rescue of Iran. It became a father to her in supporting her economy and buys 85% of its oil from her. It also gave arms and technology to bolster Iran's military equipment.
6After some years they shall make an alliance,( This represents the alliance and support China has given to Iran) and the daughter( Iran) of the king of the south
( Xi's China) shall come to the king of the north( Now, you will get the south/north thing- north of China is Rus/Russia) to make an agreement.( No agreement was made and Russia did not help Iran with military arm. This is where we are today.) But she shall not retain the strength of her arm( Iran did not retain the strength of her arm -military might), and he (The Ayatollah) and his arm( military might) shall not endure, but she ( Iran) shall be given up, and her attendants
( given up/killed), he who fathered her(China fathered her but could not prevent her being given up. Not even military weapons sent to her by China could help her), and he who supported or obtained her in those times. ( He who supported her and obtained her through financial and weaponry support during these times of sanctions and tariffs, could not deliver her from the outcome we now see on the news.)
7“And from a branch from her roots one shall arise in his place.( From a branch from her roots- Iran's roots, one shall arise in the Ayatollah's place. So, someone from her history will be placed in power over Iran. When I first interpreted this I put 3 candidates 1. an UAE prince, 2. A Saudi leader and 3. Pahlavi -that was in 2019 when I shared this. Moving forward to now, of my horses in the race, it looks as though God is pointing to Pahlavi in prophecy. He is called the lost prince of Iran and clearly is of Iran's roots /history. No matter what God is always right and is sovereign over the affairs of men good or bad. Whether as vessels of wrath or mercy. He knows all our actions ahead of time. No one can escape His matrix of prophecy. Let us hope to be vessels of mercy to always be on the right side of His Story.)
He ( This new leader to come over Iran, is placed in power by the will and desire of the secular of its people. There will be continued division with his appointment so, though it will seem like the best answer to the secular people, Iran will be in continuous unrest. With that said, Iran's leader will do the will of the ones who actually put him power, and it is not the people but rather who is bolstering him before the people, they simply agree. His army, the leader of lran's army, will invade Ukraine but keep in mind he is a proxy).... shall come against the army and enter the fortress of the king of the north (Putin/ Russia), and he shall deal with them and shall prevail.

In Revelation 11:8, Jerusalem is mystically referred to as "Sodom and Egypt" to symbolize its moral corruption and spiritual bondage, reflecting its rejection of God and the persecution of His messengers.)
On top of that, Edom Israel ( Obadiah explains the Edom thing I refer to. For another post. God willing) seeks to take control of the Suez Canal........

and for some years he shall refrain from attacking the king of the north. 9Then the latter ( the one mentioned lastly "the king of the north" ) shall come into the realm of the king of the south but shall return to his own land.
Things are a bit muddled here but no not really, whoever establishes Iran's new leader is who actually is going after Ukraine.

The scripture you are referring to is Daniel 11:38, which states: "But in his estate shall he honour the god of forces: an alien god, whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
You figure it out. And the latter who is mentioned following that Ukraine heist, is Russia who will enter lands, sea air and sky of China. But then Russia's king shall return to his own land.

This is speaking of when the Ukraine war started to now.
Another buffer zone ....The China – Russia border, it constitutes the international boundary between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China, spanning approximately 4,300 kilometers primarily along the Amur and Ussuri rivers in the eastern sector and through mountainous terrain in the western …Hence, why the king of the south will move with rage 11Then the king of the south, moved with rage, shall come out and fight against the king of the north. ( They already had war concerning this zone before. Also ,the Sino-Soviet border conflict drew buffer zones'
That eventual a CPC victory was had and the rise of Mao as leader of the People’s Republic of China on 1 October 1949. It did lead to full Soviet recognition, albeit four months after the event.
Moving forward, again Russia will raise a great multitude against China.
And he shall raise a great multitude, ( Russia will raise a great multitude) but it shall be given into his hand.( Xi's hand) 12And when the multitude is taken away, his heart ( Xi's heart) shall be exalted, and he shall cast down tens of thousands( Xi will cast down tens of thousands), but he shall not prevail. 13For the king of the north (Russia's king)shall again raise a multitude, greater than the first. 14“In those times many shall rise against the king of the south,( China)and the violent among your own people ( Christ hating Jews) shall lift themselves up in order to fulfill the vision,( The greater Israel, a vision of Kabbalah were the Xionist Jews rule the world from Israel) but they shall fail. 15Then the king of the north shall come and throw up siegeworks and take a well-fortified city. And the forces of the south shall not stand, or even his best troops, for there shall be no strength to stand. 16But he who comes against him shall do as he wills, and none shall stand before him. And he shall stand in the glorious land, with destruction in his hand. 17He shall set his face to come with the strength of his whole kingdom, and he shall bring terms of an agreement and perform them. He shall give him the daughter of women to destroy the kingdom, but it shall not stand or be to his advantage. 18Afterward he shall turn his face to the coastlands and shall capture many of them, but a commander shall put an end to his insolence. The point is, desolation is decreed to the end. The world will be in continual turmoil. Very exhausting! You can blame the vessels of wrath who are simply hell bent and cannot get out of their own way. All that is happening is actually war waged against the Anointed of God.

and the peoples plot in vain?
2The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
3“Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”

4He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
5Then he will speak to them in his wrath,

6“As for me, I have set my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”
7I will tell of the decree:
The Lord said to me, “You are my Son;
today I have begotten you.
8Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
9You shall break them with a rod of iron
and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
10Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
11Serve the Lord with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
12Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
