Thanks!
I found Jerome’s Commentary on Daniel online
tertullian.org/fathers/jerome_daniel_02_text.htm

and I see where he has this:
“This same Eusebius reports another view as well, which I do not entirely reject (A), that most authorities extend the one [last] week of years to the sum of seventy years, reckoning each year as a ten-year period.”

While I was hoping to find the reason for this, no luck there, as a couple of sentences later it says:
“Yet I am at a loss to know how we can understand the earlier seven weeks and the sixty-two weeks to involve seven years each, and just this last one to involve ten years for each unit of the seven, or seventy years in all.”

😦

I will keep hunting for the rationale for attributing it to decades. It seems plausible on the face of it because Jesus was crucified about halfway between His birth and the First Roman-Jewish War, which would make it ‘mid-week’ per Daniel. I always thought it peculiar how Jesus died in 33 and the war started double that, in 66. And the Temple and Jerusalem were destroyed about 3 1/2 years (1260 days, 42 months, time, times and a half time) of tribulation in Judea after the war started. Interesting.
(And with typology, the ‘week’ and ‘mid-week being cut off’ could have and probably do have several meanings all of which are correct - the ‘yes’ and ‘yes’ . So it could refer to seventy years, and it could also refer to seven years. )

God bless you.
I think both books I mentioned cited from your link. I had not tried looking it up but I’m going to read it. Thanks.
