So, I know the story of Daniel, and how he was thrown into the lions’ den. However, there are two instances when Daniel gets thrown to the lions, once under King Darius (Dan 6:17-25) and under King Astyages (Dan 14:30-42). Are these parrallel dens simply the retelling of the same instance, or did Daniel get thrown to the lions twice?

According to the Haydock commentary on Dan. 14:30-42 Daniel was thrown into the lions den 2 times.
