You dont need to study islam to make an opinion of it. All you have to do is monitor it here in the modern world or review its actions historically. Islam is a religion of war, slavery, death, destruction, heresey, ect. This cancer is all around us and has engulfed our world.

Kafir I like your quote, nice addaptaion from President Reagan.

Proud Kafir:
I don’t practise Taqiyya. 😃 Only muslims follow that. 😉
so thats why you lied? oh ok…

And thats why I didnt? ah, i see…

And thats why weve already explained Taqiyya? Hmm ok.

Booklover:
I see no similarities between Islam and Catholicism.
Well, I do, heres a few:

One god (sure you say hes three in one, but still one)
The geneology of the prophets (moses, abraham, etc)
Anti-gay marriage
Anti-abortion
Give charity
No premarital sex
Billions of followers
Always have God in mind

I was on a roll but I stopped myself, theres a couple though.

Because I havent seen you on the Islam forum I will forgive you.

The topic of the violence associated with Islam has been discussed many times before.

It is because people do not understand their religion. If the ‘muslims’ knew the rules regarding war then they would realize that Islam has given them essentially a one-way ticket straight to Hell for what they think will give them martyrdom. If you would like more explanation I will find it for you, or Emad can post a thread on whyislam that has talked about how islam isnt a religion of war/ the rules of jihad.

What Proud Kafir said about Muslims being “peaceful” while they’re a minority and then showing their fangs if they become a majority is true!:bigyikes:
You do realize, don’t you, that in the 19th and early 20th centuries American Protestants said exactly the same things about Catholicism? Don’t you think that the Golden Rule may require you to think carefully about the possibility that you’re just as prejudiced as they were?

I would hope that we would do as the Prophet Mohamed (pbuh) taught us to do

**A Letter to the Monks of St. Catherine Monastry **

In 628 C.E. Prophet Muhammad (s) granted a Charter of Privileges to the monks of St. Catherine Monastery in Mt. Sinai.

This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them.
Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah!** I hold out against anything that displeases them. **

No compulsion is to be on them.

Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries.

No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims’ houses.

Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God’s covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate.

**No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. **
The Muslims are to fight for them.

If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. **She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. **

**Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. **

No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world).

This is all lies! Just look at the world and see all the terror that Isam has created. They hate us and want us all dead!

We do not hate you all nor want you all dead. Murdering innocent people is a big sin in Islam, for the Quran says that if we murder the life of one innocent person it is as if we have taken the life of all of mankind.

I know that what is presented through the media is disturbing. Violence is not Islam. You should try reading about Islam from an objective source if you are interested in the truth.

Take care

Booklover, in all honesty, do you really read the replies that the muslims give on this board? Have you honestly studied Islam at ALL from an objective source? Your replies consist of “Mohamed made it up” “He came to discredit Jesus” “you guys are following blindly”

All your reasons dont make any sense whatsoever. If anything, muslims on this board have expressed a faith that makes sense. IT is the CHRISTIAN"s reply to “believe blindly” b/c understanding is not involved. Or do you believe in trinity through intellect?
Faith, you’re twisting what we say again! We do not follow our faith blindly! We DO ACCEPT THE TRINITY WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING IT BECAUSE GOD REVEALED IT, IT WHO CANNOT LIE OR DECEIVE! There are references to the Trinity in the Bible!

could all the muslims leave the trinity alone? it just gets us attacked later on. Please stop mentioning it unless you find some really difficult to refute proof.

accepting something against your own common sense or understanding = following blindly

Just like someone on here tried to prove there are refrences to a triune godhead in the Quran…lol…what will they think of next 🙂

After failing to understand it, i tried to leave it alone. But when some people say Muslims are following blindly…it becomes too tempting to resist.

InshAllah I will try to not mention it.

yeah i know, especially when they say our holy book is lies and therefore there is no evidence for us…

Yes Faith, you do accept blindly. You’ve accepted everything Mohammed said without any real proof! I haven’t seen anything any Muslim has said about Mohammed’s claims that mean anything at all. It’s just the same thing over and over, whatever Mohammed said has to be the truth because he said it. Nothing makes any sense!

oooook.

This is somethign that would be cool to do. Sit down and ask yourself “how much do i know about Islam and where did I learn it”

Then, after your done, ask yourself "do i really have enough knowledge to say that “Mohamed made it up”

At first you used to upset me with your comments…but now, i just feel bad for you. God willing, He will guide us all to the truth. Lets make sure we ask for that guidance 🙂

jesus=muhammed
qur’an=bible

you follow jesus the way we follow muhammed, you follow the bible the way we follow the qur’an.

so therefore its just as easy for us to say YOU accept blindly.

Ok, I could ask you the same thing, how much do you know about Christianity to claim that what we believe is wrong?

All I’m saying is that from what I’ve seen nobody here has given me conclusive prove of Mohammed’s claims. It all still amounts that it’s only his word and nothing else.

The Catholic Church does not approve a miracle or apparition or anything of that kind just because someone claims it so. The Church investigates them thoroughly before it gives a pronouncement on it.The apparitions of our Blessed Mother at Fatima in Portugal in 1917 were not approved by the Church until 1930. We got the proof by the miracle of the dancing sun which was seen by thousands!

Did Muslims investigate Mohemmed’s claims at all? That’s what I don’t see.

the things that happened to muhammed are as historically accurate as Alexander the Greats conquest. It is very very well kept and widely known. All the hadiths have an extremely thorough process that they are put through, and they are stated to be authentic or weak so that the reader can know.

Also, muhammed had a reputation so valid that everyone would believe him. In fact here is a little story (which I have forgotten some of, so bear with me)

Muhammed, after recieving the revelation, went to the highest hill in the outskirts of the territory of his tribe. he used either a horn or bell or w/e (I forgot) to get the leaders of the tribe to meet by the hill. He asked them “If I were to tell you right now that there is a large army coming to destroy all of you what would you do?” the leaders of the tribes said that they would leave everything they have right then and run away to a safer hiding place within the walls of a city. Muhammad asked them “do you have that much faith in me, to leave everything you own?” and they said that yeah, they do. Then he asked them if they would believe him about the religion, etc…goes on, I forget the rest.

Basically, the leaders of tribes trusted muhammed so much that they would leave everything they own behind if he had said there is a large army right behind this hill, despite the fact that there was no reason for them to be attacked, that they couldnt hear an army in the distance, that they hadnt heard of anyone coming to attack them, etc.

His nickname was “trustworthy” or “honest” because everyone knew that he never lied cheated or stole from anyone.

That is why what he says was believed by some people right away, despite the fact that it was very strange at the time.

I believe in an All-powerful, All-merficul, God. One who is unique. Islam provides me with a good understanding of who God is as he has revealed to us (not a COMPLETE understanding, but a good one). Christianity does not provide me with the same comforting feeling of understanding belief. If anything, it leaves me confused and empty. SO i choose to follow Islam.
All I’m saying is that from what I’ve seen nobody here has given me conclusive prove of Mohammed’s claims. It all still amounts that it’s only his word and nothing else.
I believe there are many times which this exact topic was addressed. If you choose to not accept, its on you.

How can everyone be right? Someone has got to be wrong. Some of us are following a religion of lies. Right?

First of all I choose to follow Christianity because it has it’s roots all the way back to the begining of Time. (Genesis1:1 “In the begining…”) Secondly I choose the Catholic church because it has it’s roots all the way back to Jesus and His disiciples. And it has been proven and documented in scripture and tradition.

If someone comes along several hundred years after Christ and says he has received a revelation from God and everything that has been taught for the past several hundred years is a lie, how can I beleive him?
