These kids were 6-10 years old. I don’t think they should know very much about marriage and love at that age. They are still babies…Sincerely I don’t think is that funny at all, instead worrysome as if you analize it objectively …while some may be seen as cute…it actually reflects the perception of the next generation on relationships, dating and marriage and the majority of statements reflect a troubled vision of marriage which makes you wonder what have these kids seen to get those ideas. Things like they tell lies to each other, is better for girls to be single, make your wife forget you never take out the trash, most boys are brainless, you got to be a fool to get married, SHE should keep the chips comimg. don’t forget your wife name, etc. There are many statements there that are scary to think that a child that young has that negative vision of marriage and relationships Sincerely after reading that you can see why we are having such a marriage crisis in society.
Most of the kids are 9 and 10. Maybe is because my daughter and nephews are 10-11 and I am constantly dealing with kids between 9 and 11 but at 10 I don’t see them as babies. Unfortunately now a days and specially children in the public school system, children at that age are not that innocent and know too much about dating, if fact they know too much stuff they should not know at 10. Remember you have kids now starting dating (and other things they shouldn’t be doing) as early as 10-11. If we were talking about 3 to 5 years old then yes, but at ten I find it worrisoneThese kids were 6-10 years old. I don’t think they should know very much about marriage and love at that age. I know many kids who are that age and they aren’t dating. That’s totally on the parents. I know plenty of children who are still innocent at that age. Kids shouldn’t know about dating and how marriage is supposed to be at that age. Maybe it is the region that I’m from, but I don’t know of any children who are going on dates in prepubescent years. Most of the kids are 9 and 10. I agree that at that age kids shouldn’t know about dating but at least in my area kids that remain age appropriate are a minority. Geez I remember my daughter at 6 being bullied at school because she didn’t wear mini skirts with high heels (yeees at 6 when my daughter was at public school the girls in her class wore mini skirts with no tights underneath and high heels and were talking about kissing boyfriends and innapropiate things and would bully girls who weren’t into that…add to that they got two speeches given by planned parenthood and that is why I took her out of the public school system). So precisely because I am doing everything to safeguard my daughter innocence at that age and I enforce age appropriate rules at my house I can tell you is extremely difficult because most kids in her age range are far from their age. The majority of 10-11 behave like they are 16 and the fact that at 10 they are in middle school exposes them more to dating as they are hanging with the 13 years old. I have had to forbid her to be friends with kids from public schools because is so bad. And even at catholic private still there are some kids you gotta be careful. we hang out with several homeschooling kids and all the homeschooling parents home school mostly because kids at public schools are way too far ahead. And again you have planned parenthood going to kindergarten and first grade to talk to 5 and 6 years old you can be sure most of the kids know way too much of what they shouldn’t know.I know many kids who are that age and they aren’t dating. I agree that it wasn’t funny and I agree that kids perceptions will influence their behaviour to a certain extent when they are adults and I agree that they are not babies and should know better but… to say it is worrisome is going a bit too far. They probably just took a small sample and used the ‘weirder’ quotes and the majority of kids probably knew better. Perhaps uncharitable on my part but I don’t think these kids were the brightest bulbs in the pack.Sincerely I don’t think is that funny at all, instead worrysome as if you analize it objectively …while some may be seen as cute…it actually reflects the perception of the next generation on relationships, dating and marriage and the majority of statements reflect a troubled vision of marriage which makes you wonder what have these kids seen to get those ideas.
