Dating and Future Spouse

I could really use your help with prayers here! I am praying to find a good Catholic man to start dating as I have discerned that I am called to marriage and to have a family of my own after discerning religious life for about 3 years. Discerning religious life was a trial of ups and downs, but I believe it led me closer to the Lord and helped me understand His will much better, though, I have to admit, I wasn’t always attentive to it. Now, I’m really interested in pursuing a dating relationship, beginning as friends and then becoming more serious as time goes on. I have never seriously dated or had a boyfriend, so I’m a little nervous, and I’m asking God to put my future spouse in my path because it’s very difficult for me to initiate contact. I’ve had some bad experiences in the past with asking guys out, so I’m not really willing to do that again. I think the man should be in control of that.

I’ve started praying to St. Raphael, Our Lord and His Blessed Mother, St. Therese, and other saints to help me find a husband–someone I can grow with. I believe marriage is a way for two people to help each other attain heaven as their final reward. I have begun reading “Theology of the Body for Beginners” and “The Good News About Sex and Marriage” as well as the Catechism to better understand the marital commitment and chaste courtship. I am committed to remaining chaste until marriage.

If you could please pray for me to find a good Catholic man, I’d appreciate it! I’m planning to start a novena on Sept. 21st to St. Raphael, who’s feast day is Sept. 29th. 🙂
 
Loving God Your daughter has continued faithfully to desire and seek Your will for her life.
With great love, please continue to guide and prepare her for the life You wish for her, and if You will, please help her to find a good Catholic spouse with whom she can live in faithful and holy marriage. Thank You, loving God

I will keep you in my prayers! I myself am seeking my wife, after discerning that the priesthood was not for me. God will help you find your special someone! His will be done.

God bless you. Many people have told me that those who have discerned priesthood or consecrated life make for better husbands and wives because they prayed for God’s will. They didn’t simply choose it because it was the only option to them. 😉

My dear friend I am not too sure if you have the DVD called “Rosary Stars” but Luke Vercollone prayed the Rosary for his future wife and his future wife prayed for well him a future husband they met on Oct.7th which is the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary.

Prayer for Future Husband or Wife

O Jesus, lover of the young, the dearest Friend I have, in all confidence I open my heart to You to beg Your light and assistance in the important task of planning my future. Give me the light of Your grace, that I may decide wisely concerning the person who is to be my partner through life. Dearest Jesus, send me such a one whom in Your divine wisdom You judge best suited to be united with me in marriage. May her/his character reflect some of the traits of Your own Sacred Heart. May s/he be upright, loyal, pure, sincere and noble, so that with united efforts and with pure and unselfish love we both may strive to perfect ourselves in soul and body, as well as the children it may please You to entrust to our care. Bless our friendship before marriage, that sin may have no part in it. May our mutual love bind us so closely, that our future home may ever be most like Your own at Nazareth.
