It is tough being single and Catholic and live the life. I agree that standards are necessary.

I honestly don’t know what to tell you. Have you tried any of the online sites? At least then you can get a feeling for where the prospect is spiritually…

OP, I admire that you have standards. I was such a fool in the past, married a non-Catholic-turned-atheist and I ended up getting burned big time.

Having standards is good. For example, I have told myself that I will never marry a non-Catholic - period.

But, everyone has their tolerance list. If you can’t handle swear words, then continue to honor yourself and don’t date someone who does. I don’t mind some swear words but I absolutely do not accept a person using a swear word when taking God’s name in vain.

Anyway, my point is: you’re honoring yourself and your own integrity and I really admire that. Don’t change yourself, you are who you are and if God wills it, He will bless you with the right man.

If love is what you seek, it wouldn’t hurt to ask for the intercession of St. Raphael.

I’ve only ever required that my potential spouse or dating partner be christion and free to marry in the church. Not Divorced not without an annulment. This really is null anyway since I haven’t been asked out by anyone I’d like to date in 2 years. Mostly just much older divorced guys or one drunk guy I used to have a crush on who proved to be a complete jerk. No single is better than that.
