My favorite actor(Eduardo Verastegui) says he won’t kiss a woman until he’s married. I guess he thinks it is.
You know what? I don’t think that’s because he thinks it’s a sin. I think it’s because he knows what a kiss means. I bet he is saving that kiss, that symbol of affection for his wife. He doesn’t feel a need, in fact, he is opposed to the idea of collecting experiences kissing many different ladies. He only wants to share that kind of intimacy with one person, and I think that’s a very good thing.

👍

I think it’s a good thing too, however, everyone here lets think about how realistic that is.

So then are we saying that as long as you are not “aroused” it’s fine. However I think that “aroused” is a relative term.
That’s my point. None of us can get into another’s head and heart to determine at what point that person is aroused. Often the individual is not certain what will arouse them until they are in the situation.

If a both people in the relationship though are commited to chastity, and honest with themselves and each other as to what arouses them, I think that the couple can decide what is appropriate for them.

If you get on some Protestant sites you will find that they are against hand holding or kissing etc. Yes, those easily defined rules might seem safer and easier to follow. But the mindset is that the followers are children spiritually who need a lot of rules.🤷

Realistic for who?

It would require a heroic level of the virtue of continence.
Is it common? No. Is it realistic? Yes. I know people who have done that.

People who have worked on the virtue of chastity and continence for a long time are capable of that. For them it’s an act of devotion, like for some people who say the rosary daily.

Do I have that level of heroic virtue?
