David, the Ark, Elizabeth, and Mary

Is there any significance to the fact that David diverted the ark from the City of David and that Elizabeth did not divert Mary from her house even though they both stayed about three months?

Hello, could you give me the scriptures on the first example with David?
I don’t know why Elizabeth would divert Mary from her home?
Mary was helping her out. 🤷

2 Samuel 6:
6 When they came to the threshing floor of Nodan, Uzzah reached out his hand to the ark of God and steadied it, for the oxen were making it tip. 7 But the LORD was angry with Uzzah; God struck him on that spot, and he died there before God. 8 David was disturbed because the LORD had vented his anger on Uzzah. (The place has been called Perez-uzzah down to the present day.) 9 David feared the LORD that day and said, “How can the ark of the LORD come to me?” 10 So David would not have the ark of the LORD brought to him in the City of David, but diverted it to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite. 11 The ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite for three months, and the LORD blessed Obed-edom and his whole house.

If you read on in 2 Samuel, you’ll see that later on (three months later) David successfully brought the Ark to Jerusalem. The text implies that his first foray was a spontaneous one in which he did not give due dilligence to form, ritual, intention and the sacredness of the occasion. The second --and successful - attempt, you’ll notice is a much more formal (though no less joyful) process.

What conclusions can we draw from that? One possibilty is that it points to the surpassing holiness and obedience of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the New Ark of the Covenant, as she made the same journey, but without David’s imperfect actions.

The place where the ark stayed for three months and the place where Elizabeth lived are very close together. I believe the ark was diverted to this place so that later on, a link could be made between the Ark of the Old Covenant and the Ark of the New Covenant (Mary).

Another link also is the joyous leap of David before the Ark of the Old Covenent and the leap of joy of John the Baptist before theArk of the New Covenant.
