Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today’s Gospel gives us the Transfiguration of Jesus, and great hope for our own transfiguration. Jesus let His glory be seen by Peter, James and John in oder to strengthen them for the trial of His Passion. We need to keep our focus on Jesus Who for the joy set before Him endured the cross. We need to behold our Mother who stood beneath His Cross enduring with Him to the end.
Our preliminary 12 days of seeking to “rid ourselves of the spirit of the world” are coming to an end soon, but the battle is far from over. We die daily to all that is not Christ in order that He may live in us as He lives in Mary. Let us give the Lord thanks today for all He has given to us, and ask to be faithful to His Holy Spirit, through Mary our Mother.
