Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Continuing to seek true knowledge of ourselves this week is not an easy task. Perhaps we ask, “Why me?” Why look at myself? I would rather look at Mary or Christ. St. Louis de Montfort shows us the importance of knowing ourselves as we are so that we may better look upon Mary and Jesus with repentant hearts, humble hearts that are totally given to them and dependent upon them. How we need the Holy Spirit to help us search the depths of our hearts that we may be purified! Let us hope in Him as God’s Word encourages us:

By God’s grace, let us call on the Holy Spirit and Mary to help us repent and to believe the Good News of Jesus, and place all our hope in Him.See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God. Yet so we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we shall be has not yet been revealed. We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like Him, for we shall see him as He is. Everyone who has this hope based on him makes himself pure, as He is pure ( 1 John 3: 1-3)
