Dear Brothers and Sisters,
At the end of this week, seeking true knowledge of ourselves, it seems like the end of the 12 days in ridding ourselves of the spirit of the world – that is, neither are really ended until we breathe our last breath on this earth! The Church on earth continues her spiritual warfare, spoken of in Rev.12:12 and 17. The evil one does not want us to rid ourselves of the world’s spirit, nor does he want us to know the Truth, repent and believe the Good News of Jesus.
By God’s grace, however, we were baptized into Jesus and received His Life to live, not only on earth but to live eternally with Him in heaven. As God reminds us:

Today’s Gospel (Luke 4: 16-30) and commentary can be an encouragement for us as we fight the good fight against evil:…nothing will be impossible for God. (Luke 1:37)
…I have the strength for everything through Him who empowers me. (Philippians 4:13)
Please let us continue to pray for one another as we pray to the Holy Spirit and our Blessed Mother for true knowledge of ourselves.…“Rolling up the scroll after he had read this, Jesus handed it to the attendant and sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him.” At this very moment, if you so desire… you can gaze intently at the Lord. If you turn your gaze from the depths of your heart towards contemplation of Wisdom, Truth and the only-begotten Son of the God, then you are gazing intently at Jesus. Oh how blessed the gathering of which Scripture itself declares that “their eyes were fixed on him intently”! How I should love this congregation to receive a similar testimony! May everybody here, have… the eyes of their hearts occupied in gazing at Jesus! When you gaze at him his light will make your faces more radiant and you will be able to say: “The light of your face, O Lord, has set its seal upon us” (Ps 4,7 LXX).
