Day 20 (Week 2 - Seeking Knowledge of Mary)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

How beautifully the Holy Spirit inspired St. Louis de Montfort in writing this 33 day journey! Last week, seeking true knowledge of self, we hopefully have learned how important the virtue of humility is. This week, seeking knowledge of Mary, we behold the perfect disciple of Jesus. Mary listened to Him and kept everything He said and did in her heart. No other disciple ever learned as well as she did, from Jesus, especially when He said: “Learn of Me for I am meek and humble of heart”.

St. Louis de Montfort wrote this paragraph in True Devotion about Week 2:

1. Each day of the second week they should endeavour in all their prayers and works to acquire an understanding of the Blessed Virgin and ask the Holy Spirit for this grace. They may read and meditate upon what we have already said about her. They should recite daily the Litany of the Holy Spirit and the Ave Maris Stella as during the first week. In addition they will say at least five decades of the Rosary for greater understanding of Mary.

Please remember the additional readings and prayers in the link below are only “suggestions” – if you have time for them. Better to do a little well than do a lot in a hurry and perhaps with less attention and devotion.
