Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Praying to the Holy Spirit this morning, one verse of the “Veni Creator Spiritus” touched me especially:
…Oh, may Thy grace on us bestow
the Father and the Son to know;
and Thee, through endless times confessed,
of both the eternal Spirit blest…
How earnestly we need to pray for God’s Grace! Jesus in John 17, the night before He died prayed to His Father: “…And this is eternal life, that they know Thee, the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (Jn 17:3)

St. Louis de Montfort in the wisdom he received from the Holy Spirit has shared with the Church a journey in search of God. Like the Wise Men of old, St. Louis found Jesus with His Mother, and so this humble saint invites us to do the same. Jesus, the night before He died, also promised: “When the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth…” (John 16: 13).

We are almost midway through these 12 preliminary days of “ridding ourselves of the spirit of the world” – it is another beginning of asking, seeking, knocking on the door of God’s Heart to send us anew His Holy Spirit that we may know the complete truth. May we trust in His Love to make us holy, to purify our hearts as He is Pure. Mary, Mother and Model, intercede for us.

I plan on undergoing Marian consecration after I receive the first sacraments this year. Thank you for sharing that excellent website! May the Divine Holy Mother bless your journey towards consecration.

Dear hazcompat,

Yes, Love gives…has given…is Revealed – and will be always Holy Mighty Arm, bearing us!

Thanks again for so much in so few words. Have you read any of the writings of our new Doctor of the Church? See HERE

Dear newcalling,

Thanks for your reply and for sharing with us the great news of your receiving your first sacraments this year, and your plan to undergo, by God’s Grace, Marian Consecration. I’m happy that “Beautiful” (another poster) reminded me of the excellent website to help us.

What graces you have received in your “new calling” and what graces are still awaiting you! Open your heart wide to receive all God gives – always! Thanks for interceding for us with our Mother Mary that she may bless our journey with her loving presence and prayers. Please let us continue to pray with and for one another.

I had heard the news, but have no experience of him.

Thanks for the link.

Dear hazcompat,

Yesterday, I spent some time pondering his prayers - very poetic - and deeply prayed from the heart. I believe the Holy Spirit inspired Pope Francis to bring this saint into the Church’s group of Doctors, at this time in history, not only for our Armenian brothers and sisters in the East but for all of us who are experiencing the “groaning” of the Holy Spirit within our souls.

HERE is St. Gregory of Narek’s Prayer 2 - which begins "And now, my heavy laden soul,
what will you do? " In this first period of St. Louis De Montfort’s 33 day preparation, it seemed a good prayer for me to ponder. This new Doctor of the Church is not a man of “few words” in his poetry but he pours forth an abundance of “sighs” from the heart.

Thanks, as always for your reply. I hope you and others may take some time, when you can, to ponder the prayerful and poetic gifts God has given this saint for all of us.
