Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Sorry to be so late in posting this, but we had some continuing “unexpected trials” with our computers. As we are seeking to “rid ourselves of the spirit of the world”, we need to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers (cf Eph 6:12). Yesterday we looked at Mary, our Mother and Model, and today again, I’m posting from the first part of St. Louis de Montfort’s treatise on “True Devotion”:
Come Holy Spirit; fashion us in and through Mary.
Mary our Mother, hold us close to Jesus.
Jesus we trust in You!

If we look at the world we soon begin to see its “spirit” is not the Holy Spirit, for we see so much opposition to God in many persons. No wonder Jesus, dying on His Cross, told his beloved disciple John (and us): “Behold your Mother”. In Mary we see no opposition to God but only her “Yes” to Him. How the fallen angels with satan their leader hate Mary and her children! Let us pray for one another and remember her words to St. Juan Diego: "Am I not your Mother? Are you not in the crossing of my arms? " Let us remain there close to Jesus her Son.
- God the Holy Spirit wishes to fashion his chosen ones in and through Mary. He tells her, “My well-beloved, my spouse, let all your virtues take root in my chosen ones that they may grow from strength to strength and from grace to grace. When you were living on earth, practising the most sublime virtues, I was so pleased with you that I still desire to find you on earth without your ceasing to be in heaven. Reproduce yourself then in my chosen ones, so that I may have the joy of seeing in them the roots of your invincible faith, profound humility, total mortification, sublime prayer, ardent charity, your firm hope and all your virtues. You are always my spouse, as faithful, pure, and fruitful as ever. May your faith give me believers; your purity, virgins; your fruitfulness, elect and living temples.”
Come Holy Spirit; fashion us in and through Mary.
Mary our Mother, hold us close to Jesus.
Jesus we trust in You!
