Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Of course we know our battle to “rid ourselves of the spirit of the world” does not end in 12 days, but we can understand the necessity of focusing on wherein the battle lies. St. Louis De Montfort, like all the saints, knew God’s Word and like Mary kept it. In the First Letter of John we hear God say:
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world , the lust of the flesh and and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is not of the Father but but is of the world. And the world passes away and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. (1 Jn 1: 15 - 17)
By the power of the Holy Spirit, and the intercession of Mary, may we continue to examine our consciences asking for pure hearts to see and do God’s will. We cannot serve two masters. We must choose God’s Holy Spirit and not the spirit of the world. Please let us continue to pray for, and with, one another on this journey. Thanks so much.

Thanks, hazcompat for “taking a look at” our newest Doctor of the Church. With Mary and all our saints, St. Gregory of Narek, kept God’s Word in the depths of his heart. He probably moaned (or sighed) like a dove too.
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness: for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words.
Romans 8:26

Witness, Omniscient Loving eyes concerned, caring.

Peace
Yes, He cares more than we can imagine – and Mary standing at the foot of His Cross bears eloquent and silent witness to caring with Him.

Let us remain in Him, as Mary did in this world, knowing from Jesus, He is our peace:
I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.”
Thanks again for your replies.
