Dear Brothers and Sisters,

It’s later than usual for me to be posting on the Forum but I am grateful for God’s giving me life at all today. 🙂 We can take our natural and our supernatural lives for granted, when indeed we really cannot know of ourselves when God may call us home. I’ve often told my husband “I just want to finish well”.

Scripture helps me so much for I know how easily our first parents were deceived by the lies of satan, but God continued to show mercy and though they were cast out of paradise, He would save us in giving His Son to us through Mary. The Gospel and the Letters of John are particularly helpful to me, remembering how John stood with Mary at the foot of the Cross and heard Jesus say to Mary:
“Woman behold your son” (Jn 19:26)
and to John:
“Behold your Mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.(Jn 19:27)
St. JPII in reading verse 27 in the original Greek observed that the Greek words were: “took her into his own” and the word “home” was the translator’s addition. St. JPII heard the Greek to mean John took Mary into his life ( not just his home). God gave them both grace for more than we sometimes hear ourselves.

Let us please pray for one another today on this Friday – pondering the Passion of Christ and how totally God gave Himself to us in giving Jesus, how totally Jesus gave Himself on the Cross and in all He said and did on the earth for 33 years, and how ttally Mary gave herself in her “Yes”. Let us say with Mary today, her words as Mother and Model of the Church:
“…Be it done to me, according to Your Word…” (Lk 1:38)

Dear lilypadrees,

Noticed on my profile page that you’ve been “catching up” on our “journey of 33 days” (Days 6 through 8)!!!

I decided to thank you here, and let you know Days 9 and 10 are also posted. 🙂 Each time I take this journey under the Direction of the Holy Spirit, with St. Louis de Montfort and his Treatise on True Devotion as a guide for consecrating myself totally to Jesus through Mary, I am blessed, happy to share with others God’s Wisdom given to us through the saints of our Catholic Church.

God willing, we will be concluding the preliminary 12 days of “emptying ourselves of the spirit of the world…” on Nov. 20 and begin “Wk 1 - seeking a true knowledge of ourselves” on Nov. 21 – so appropriately on the Memorial of Our Lady’s Presentation.

Thanks for taking time to read the posts and for cliking on the heart to let us know you liked what you read. Please let us pray for one another, for the Church and for all those in most need of Go’s Mercy.

I’ve taken to bookmarking each day’s thread since some of the titles are different. That way, I can keep up.

I derive such pleasure from reading them. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Good for you, lilypadrees! When we read something we need to take time and ponder it. If we read something we aren’t sure of, then we may need to ask questions.

Sometimes “pleasure” can deceive us. A person can write something that gives me pleasure simply because they think like me, – but more important is to be sure what we read is in accord with what God has revealed in Scripture, Tradition and the Magisterium. We want to be sure of God’s Truth which does always give true and lasting pleasure. 🙂

I try to stay close to Scripture, the writings of Saints and the teachings of the Church, so if you ever have a question, please don’t be afraid to ask. Thanks for reading the threads.
