Conspiracy is just conspiracy.
.
In his well researched book of 1880*, Fr. M.J. O’Brien showed that Fr. Wion’s list of 113 papal mottoes could not have been composed prior to 1557 and that Fr. Giaconis did not write the commentary.
That leaves Fr. Wion as the sole author which means that there is no “conspiracy” here, just some spurious editing that has gained credence through being repeated down the ages.

*AN HISTORICAL AND CRITICAL ACCOUNT OF THE SO-CALLED PROPHECY OF ST. MALACHY, O’Brien, 1880.

I never said i want to be, in fact i really do not.

You do not have to be in the Conclave to be elected.
Just look at Martin V/Odo Colonna who was not even a priest. 🙂

Just a fact. 😉
How long ago was he Pope, what was his history?

He was elected in 1417 to end the western schism as a compromise candidate.

The day after his election he was made a deacon, the day after that he was consecrated a priest, the day after that he was consecrated a bishop, and after that he was crowned pope.

He started the rebuilding of Rome after ages of neglect, when most of the cathedrals lacked roofs and wolves stalked the Vatican gardens. 🙂

He must have been a pretty special man. Why was he elected? What were his talents?

As far as I am able to read he was a good diplomat, well educated, and well connected, but most importantly he was neutral and pious.

I dont know much else.
