On my calender there is a Day of Penance.
I have not heard anything else about it.
Does anyone have information on this day?
Who has called for it?

Do you mean January 22? That’s the day of penance and prayer for life called by the USCCB. It’s in the US adaptations to the GIRM.

Yes that is the one. Is there more information? I haven’t heard it talked about.
