I go to a Catholic college. The College is sponsoring the “Day of Silence” this Friday.
Is it acceptable for this event to be sponsored by the college, or should it not take place? If it was promoting gay marriage or something like that, I would definately think it should be stopped. However, the Day of Silence advertises itself as a protest to the DISCRIMINATION and HARRASSMENT of LGBT people. I know the Church teaches us to treat all persons with respect, even if they engage in sinful activities.
Is the event acceptable because the Church condemns harassment, or should it not be allowed since it could be seen as promoting a pro-gay agenda?
