Greetings!
I understand that in certain cases a homily may be given by a Deacon, however is this allowed to happen frequently?
The last 4 Sundays’ homilies were given by the deacon while the Priest sat in his chair.
I checked the GIRM, which states:

So does the frequency by which this Deacon delivers the homily constitute a liturgical abuse?The Homily should ordinarily be given by the priest celebrant himself. He may entrust it to a concelebrating priest or occasionally, according to circumstances, to the deacon, but never to a lay person.
