My father in law owns several types of bibles and knows greek , hebrew and aramaic - he is a Non-denomination Christian and he brought to my attention the word (prostatis) and the way its been translated. I don’t feel like he is trying to undermine church teaching or anything but instead brought up in interesting point and **I would like some resources or replies in how this fits in with Catholic teaching especially in terms of ordination

In Romans 16:2 - that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself has also been a helper (prostatis/προστάτις) of many, and of myself as well.
I have been come to show that the word προστάτις (prostatis) in the other forms such as the male form (prostatai) means ruler , chief and has much higher regard than helper, assistant which is used in translations for prostatis and Pheobes position that Paul was writing about in Romans.
**Was Pheobe a Ruler and a Leader and how does this affect church doctrine in female ordination??
