In the Byzantine Divine Liturgy, the Deacon holds his orarion (stole) and points to the Discos and Chalice as appropriate during the Words of Institution and Epiclesis.

How would this look in the Roman Liturgy?
The deacon does A LOT in the Byzantine DL…

The deacon does A LOT in the Byzantine DL…My Latin Rite deacon could NEVER cut it liturgically in my Byzantine parish…
Please be cautious about making this kind of judgment.

I don’t know you; I don’t know your deacon. But I do know Grace, and armed with that (and some training and practice) he could probably do much.

Besides: the Liturgy is only one part of diakonia… we are ministers of charity, conformed to Christ the servant.

Regards,
Deacon Joe
