Please pray for my daughter who has a severe drug problem and continues to be drawn to a very dangerous man. She has 2 children an 8 year old daughter and a 2 year old son… This is so heart breaking and has become more & more unbearable. My granddaughter is living with me and her son is with his father…as soon as things start looking hopeful everything crashes. I am desperately trying to let go and I’ve removed every safety net that she has…and praying to do God’s will…but I am so scared for both my daughter and my grandchildren and I am so heartbroken…I’ve prayed & prayed for miracle for years and everytime it seems as though the miracle is in process everything goes to hell…likes its just a big mean joke. This has been going on for years and I’m drained

I am praying hard for you. I have a daughter who is an alcoholic. I understand.

Lainey I am so sad to hear what a great sadness and anxiety you live with through your daughter.

Holy Spirit can You not rescue this mother’s daughter from herself and from her choices? I know that we have free will and this young woman has compromised the possiblity of freedom of choice and clarity of perception by the damaging use of chemicals, but I place her in Your care.

Thank You for providing care for Lainey’s granddaughter with her grandmother so that this little girl has hope for her life. Please ensure that her grandson’s father also provides love and safey for him. Thank You that these children are not in the dangerous care of their mother and boyfriend.

A priest once wrote to me, “Free will is a two-edged sword pointed directly at the heart of God.” A sad realization. But Lainey and OutinChgoburbs, I’ll keep your daughters in my prayers and daily Masses

Praying for you, your family, and Burb’s famlly in prayers…

I too have 2 daughters that are drug addicted and one has been prison for two years and the other one is an alcoholic. The first one is out on bond and will be going to rehab as soon as they have a bed. I have my grandaughter too. She will be 18 in February and I’ve had her since she was 8. Sometime I think this will never end. I just pray to the Lord, and I will pray for you too.

I will keep your daughter in my prayers, for a recovery for her and for peace in her heart.

My prayers are with all of you. Please know that there is hope. My own experience has taught me that this is so. According to many experts and in my personal experience, addiction is a physical and psychological illness for which the only true treatment is spiritual.

Alanon is a great resource for helping the families and loved ones to understand how to live with this heartbreaking situation. The principles of the Alanon program come from the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius. Both have helped me and many others get to the place where prayer meets action in a meaningful way that doesn’t feel so hopeless and futile in the face of addiction that destroys so much.

Much Love,

Lainey:

My brother was a drug addict who stole to support his habit. Because he stole to support his habit and would get assaultive if he didn’t get what he wanted, I’ve pretty much cut him out of my life in order to preserve sanity in my life and those of my friends and to keep my friends’ stuff from “disappearing”.

I, and most of those responding to you, know this is frustrating - but this is not some cruel joke. I know I feel that way sometimes, but it isn’t. St. Paul said:
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:26-28 ESV
Read all of Romans Chapter 8 if you have a chance. I’m sure it will lift your spirits and make you feel better.

I’m sorry, but people such as your daughter and my brother won’t begin the process of Recovery until the pain of addiction becomes greater for them than the pain of living, and they won’t stay in Recovery unless they have some very compelling reason to resist the demonic pull of the addiction.

Of course, I’ll pray for you and your daughter. You aren’t alone.

Your Brother and Servant Christ, Michael

Thank you everyone! I’ll be praying for you as well. I had a really hard day yesterday…I was so down that I could hardly pray and I knew that I had too. But I did make it to Adoration and just sat there & cried…and I still couldn’t pray…but I did smell the scent of roses even though my nose was completely stuffed from crying (I don’t know if someone had on rose perfume or not…But I am taking the position that it was the Blessed Mother). I did get to utter some prayers and said some for you as well…but after I left I could pray and what a relief. Thank you so much your prayers and your words of encouragement are so helpful.:flowers: I think I made it to the point of letting go and accepting things I cannot change…and trusting God…will be mindful to stay there.

Praying for you and your daughter and her family.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Praying very hard for all who are addicted to overcome their addictions and find Jesus!

Praying for you, your daughter and for all with addictions.

*Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion - inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.

Amen.*

I pray for the intercession of St. Maximilian Kolbe, patron of drug addicts. May God our Father give peace to your daughter and fill her heart with hope.

St. Maximilian Kolbe, Pray for her.

I look at my young daughters and can’t imagine the pain you must go through. I am so very sorry. I will pray for you - and her.

May our merciful and loving Father bless you, your daughter, and your precious grandchildren. May He draw your daughter away from her addictions and closer to the Truth. And may our Blessed Mother embrace you in your struggles and give you strength during your trials. God Bless you!

I pray your daughter and grandchildren be safe, and that she overcomes her drug addiction.

Laney:

I am praying that you may not despair, that you may entrust all your burdens to the Lord and find in Him the strength to endure yet one more day each day.
I am praying that you never cease to hope and to pray to our Loving Father about your (His and yours) daughters.
May our Mother Mary hold you in her loving arms and give you strength and peace.

Alma
