Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Teresa, I’m so sorry you are going through this. It’s not easy. My father has become somewhat verbally abusive to my sister, and we think it’s due to depression after losing our mother last summer. He won’t talk about it, and definitely won’t go speak to anyone about how he’s feeling. I don’t know what the right answer is for you and your family. I just know that I will keep you in my prayers as you so faithfully prayed for me and my family when we needed it most.
Dear Denise thankyou so much. I am sorry your father is also verbally abusivue.
You and your sister and your father are in my prayers.
God bless you my friend.

Teresa,
I am a healthcare worker and also have experience with an emotionally abusive parent, so I completely understand your situation! I will pray for you and your mom.
You have a lot on your plate right now in your family. It is not healthy for you or your mom to continue things the way they are. Whether you keep her at home, your sister’s or find respite care or extended care, she will remain the same. She is who she is and once that is completely understood, you can be more objective. Your mom needs 24/7 supervision and care from people who have not been beaten down emotionally by her abuse. They can see her objectively and make a care plan for behavioral issues. You could still visit several times a week, maybe even on a rotating basis with your sister.
I hope that social services assessment provides you with all the information you need to make the best (for you and mum!) decisions. God bless you!

Yesterday I received a letter from Social Services to say my mother is on a waiting list to be assessed. This is at least positive news that something is happening! God will bring the right resolution for my mother and this entire situation. I continue to care for my mother at my sisters house where I care for my sisters. Thankyou for your supportive post.
God bless you

Praying for you tbcrawford!
I am so sorry that you and your husband are having to experience this. My thoughts and prayers will be with you today during mass. We are so lucky you have you here. Hoping that your day is good!

Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
