Yes that’s true. Lots of atheists on here who probably go out to eat rip their mask off(as I’ve been to boards full of atheists) but think church is “unnecessary” because they don’t like it. There will always be a new strain of COVID-probably every year. At this point with the vaccine available people need to do what they need to do to protect themselves and otherwise mind their own business because no one is forcing an elderly or immunocompromised person into church or anywhere else for that matter. Traditionally those at risk were excused from attending Mass now healthy people are staying at home because the congregation has become even more hostile to families with young children who can’t mask. People can buy N95 masks off Amazon. Enough excuses for not taking care of ourselves! And it would do a lot of good for everyone’s immune system if people laid off the cookies and eggnog this year…but I’m not about to tell other people to optimize their health to protect me…😏

We are not talking about closing churches, just limiting how many people are in the building at the same time and other limitations. That is all.

No, and I don’t believe it either. I am sure there are more than a couple of trolls who want to “stir the pot” just for their own twisted idea of fun, but this site isn’t big or busy enough to justify paid instigators. If you have real evidence, then please bring it out.

Is it possible that, 100 years later, we have a little more insight into what constitutes the best public health practice? Unanimous medical expert opinion calls for social distancing - incompatible with full pews.

This statement still stands. And “Because I said so” isn’t evidence. I will look at real evidence if offered, otherwise we can both move along.

Attacks does not equal paid. Your assertion was (paraphrased) that there were large numbers of people paid to do what trolls do for “fun”. Looking at troll-like behavior says nothing about the motives, whether twisted mentality or financial, behind said behavior.

I cannot divine motivation from text. If you can, then you have a power denied us lesser mortals. And saying that they basically told you by PM just doesn’t pass the smell test.

Poor analysis. The assertion isn’t “they did it then so they can do it now,” but rather, “if it wasn’t struck down as illegal then, how can you claim that it’s illegal now…?”

Our understanding of viruses has kinda grown in the past 100 years. Just sayin’… 😉
I am not cowering in fear, I do not know anyone who is cowering in fear. I and many of the people I know are taking precautions in order to protect those who are at risk, vulnerable, and they do it out of love.
This!!! A hundred times this!!! 👍 👍

Less expensive than hundreds of funerals.

Right. In other words, “things I’ve heard other people say” isn’t a good source upon which to base your assertions.

Hmm… what other assertions might that aphorism cover…?
🤔

Here, take a look in this handy mirror…

For me this isn’t work - I call out what I see as nonsense for fun and for education of others.

I don’t know where that was true - in my Parish funerals were going on all along, albeit with limited attendance for some short period.

That’s why I said I didn’t know where it was. If you do, why didn’t you say?

Sadly, in my diocese some priests did refuse to offer funeral Masses. I know this because my parish priest said he took on a lot of additional funeral Masses for Catholics who were refused elsewhere.

My remark was quite relevant as a response to yours. You discussed that closing churches as a result of non-contageous issues is the same consideration to be used for this covid pandemic. Not sure why you are claiming otherwise.

Clearly, you don’t think it is serious, if one is to believe your posts are genuine.

Exactly. You are putting together what you apparently believe are clues and totally missing the mark on your conclusions. Or jumping to conclusions and face-planting.

If you don’t have time to back up your assertions then quit making them - that would free up lots of time.
