I have a family member that preaches about “turning the other cheek” and “forgiving those who wrong you”. She is quite vocal about it. However, the second something happens to her, she becomes vengeful and unforgiving.

Has anyone else noticed this? How do you deal with it?

Thanks.

I would ask her, the next time she preaches about it, to cite some examples from her own life that would help you understand her point. And when she sidesteps those examples that do not demonstrate it, I would ask why she didn’t cite those.

Or, the next time she is behaving in this hypocritical way, ask her point blank if that behavior is of the kind that she preaches about.

Yes, I’ve noticed that a lot of times in myself. 😉 I deal with it by trying to remind myself of what I’ve said to people when I’m about to make a decision, and by reminding myself of my past decisions when I talk to people. 😉

Pray for her.
