Hey all, please pray for my family after the loss of our father two months ago. He was a very ill man, and his failing health finally caught up to him in the form of a hart attack. It was hard on my mother, sister, and my self because we all saw everything happen so fast, and he was gone before we could even get the EMT’s to our house. He was resuscitated back to life, but his mind was no longer with him; and after being connected to life support for a week, he had another hart attack and passed.

I wish I had a better relationship with him, and I regret his aversion to the catholic church. He raised me as a Baptist, and his reaction to me talking about converting didn’t sit well with him. He wouldn’t be openly hostel about it, but he made it known what he thought about theology. Now I am returning to college, and for the first time I’ll be free to go to my local RCIA; but now I feel guilty that I hid my faith with him rather than try and create a dialogue.

Please pray for me, and my family. And for the chance to grow in faith with the lord.
 
My condolences OP.

You have had a nasty experience, and there is now a hole in your life that will be there for a long time. But take courage. Our LORD comes into our life through the holes in it.

I’m sorry for the loss of your dad. Please don’t carry this guilt, you did what you felt was best at the time to keep a good relationship with him. We all have our own views on religion, and he wanted to stay true to the faith of his birth.

Prayer of apology and thanksgiving because of forgetfulness to say “thank You” to Our Lord for your Dad’s life; all the blessings He pours on us and we do not even realize it.
