Tommy is Tom Roberts, the oh-so liberal guy who writes for the National Catholic Reporter.
Recently he took the Archbishop of New York to task when the latter wrote about a string of anti-catholic reportage in the New York Times. He also repeated the usual about the Church sexual abuse scandals and a mad torrent about the Church and homosexuality – all of it absolute hogwash. Not to mention a nitwit throw away comment on those “condemned to a life of sexual abstinence” – which really ticked me off.
Well, I’ve summarized Archbishop Dolan’s piece and Tommy Roberts twaddle and posted them so you can read them and then answered Roberts. I’ve also taken the time to find out who Tommy’s bishop is (Tommy lives in Kansas said one bio) and provided a way for us to reach His Excellency The Most Reverend Joseph F. Naumann, D.D. to enlist his support to intervene and encourage Mr. Roberts to cease and desist from his cheap shot attacks on the Church.
Oh, I know. It’s probably a worthless exercise in the history of complaint but at least it gave me something to do. If you would like to admire my efforts (or better yet join me in encouraging the Bishop to have a sitdown with Tommy) you can find it all here:
