I was shocked when I saw that Isa had been banned. I can’t figure out what he could have done to merit this. I know that he had strong opinions about Islam, but I don’t think this is why he would have been banned.

Does anyone know why anybody gets banned? I want to know so I can avoid making the same mistakes. Lately, it seems like a lot of people are being banned.
 
Isa had been involved in some heated discussion about the state of Isreal (as was I). It could have been one of those threads. It could have been anything.

It is my understanding that those who are banned know why. Sometimes, we who are left behind do not know.
 
Yes, it could very well have been the Israel discussions. I know that the viewpoints he expressed on that issue upset some people. I really hope this isn’t why he was banned, though. It would be upsetting to know that holding certain political opinions that are unpopular or make people uncomfortable is enough to get you banned from here. Maybe I will also be banned, because I also do not blindly support Israel. It just seems strange when no one is banned for political discussions involving Islam, the USA (e.g. threads about abortion, gay marriage, Nancy Pelosi not knowing what the heck she’s talking about), etc. 🤷

I guess I should stop speculating…

I was more or less on his side on those threads, though not as hard core about it.
 
I think the rules need to be clarified further so that I know exactly what is allowed to be discussed. Also, do you think you could be banned if other members complain about some of your posts? This seems likely given the fact that Isa held strong views which may have prompted others to complain.

Yes. When enough people complain, they go back and look at your posts and evaluate your charity level, among other things.

And we do not know if he had been warned.
